Cheaper to get them with the bike.

Cheaper to get the IS instead and get everything else too. Radio, fairing, trunk and bags.

The VIN label should also be,
GL1500C standard
GL1500CT tourer
GL1500CF interstate

All the info should be found in Dag's site some where.

well went out and test drove my first Valkyrie from a craigs list ad. shifting was a bit clunky and things rattled around over bumps. the bike had a few cosmetic issues and I passed on it. a little disappointed.

All of them shift clunky.

It's the super strong (and made to last) square cut gears.

So don't let that sway you.

.

Too bad. Keep looking, you'll find her.

The trannies on Valks can pull stumps.

Anyone who has had to replace your tranny, raise you hand. Anyone?

Things rattling means going from front to back, checking everything and getting rid of add ons from PO's that don't fit your taste.

The owner says this is a standard. I know the fairing is aftermarket and I'm not sure what to think of it. And shouldnt the tank have the Valkyrie on it? What other things do you guys see?

It is a Standard. The Woodies fairings are good quality and worth some money. If you don't want a fairing I'm sure you could get a good price for it. Many guys remove the tank badges. The pics aren't real clear for me, but it looks like it has slash cut exhaust tips. And some kind of chrome space filler on the left side but not the right ?

Looks like a good deal to me if it runs as advertised.

The bags will clean up some, and there are stiffeners available to sort of hold them back into original shape.  Though I don't like soft bags.

The Corbin seats will also clean up a bit, but they are hard as a park bench (and never get softer) and also have no pocket so you slide all around on them when riding.   I hate them with a passion, but some like them.

It is a good fairing (and no longer made, so they are in demand).  Pity it wasn't painted blue to match.

Actually, I am not fond of the fairing, if I were to offer the seller to keep them what kind of value am I giving him and how much will I have to spend to get a nice wind shield? Do you think the emblems can be put back on and are those available and at what cost.  Thank you for any responses.

The front fender has the guard at the front, and the chrome piece on the bottom.

The seat is aftermarket, with dual backrest, and the added on rear luggage rack.

The extra lights under the fairing, Cobra brand or part of the fairing?

Bags. Chrome side covers. Chrome rad side covers. 1st pic, what's that extra chrome hiding the rear wheel (between the side cover and the bag)? Trailer hitch (there are 2 types, 1 piece and a 3 piece, research it).

The hitches are near the bottom.

I think the seller will not be interested in keeping (and disassembling) the fairing (which may also involve spacers for the gauges), and then having to sell it separately.  I think a Woody's was around a grand, so used, half price or less?

Shields/mounts vary and so do costs.  $150-300?  (not OE)

Here's your emblems, new (there may be used around) (1 & 2 for std/tourer, 11 &12 are for interstate)

Could have been someone found a Tourer shield and put it on a standard. The Vin will tell the story.

Auto reply or email? Maybe call him first in person, find out when they'll be back in stock. Enjoy the bike a little while before you do the deed, you might find something else that you might wish to do too.

So, where did you end up finding the Bee? One of my old running mates in Hopkins Mn. had one, was wondering if that was his.

It very well may be that bike but I don't have any info to support that. I found it on CL from a local guy but not a Hopkins seller.

Rich who owns Red Eye is waiting for parts that are being held up by mail delivery due to the virus and everything else that is going wrong.
