my 1997 valk . starter relay  has  4 wires plugged in  one of the wires is broke or not connected, the red and white wire in the back right corner i stripped some of the tape off and can not find the wire
now looking at the cylmer book it shows the red and white wire going to the bank angle sensor but not to the starter relay once it turns to the on position it is stuck now nothing no electric..

now it seems like the battery is shorten out . no power or lights. i had the battery checked 2 times at autozone  when it is in off i get power across  12.5 volts it takes a slow charge ok next thing is trying to jump it .reading like .5 or so on the battery something is shorting out.
i ran out of choices.

Sorry but I don't really understand your post. It's not clear.

Here is the starter relay posts.

I was looking for the link to the parts, but can't find it.

If your battery has .5v then it's toast. It should have been load tested, V is only half the story.

Get a known working battery, your daily vehicle (not running), and try to jump the bike when the relay is fixed.

Sounds like the battery has an open cell.

Will show ~12v when no load applied but put a load on it and the principle known as "I2R loss" takes over.

Would have to look at the starter relay connector on one of mine but if memory serves correctly, Honda only used three of four terminals in it. The other was vacant. Will also look at my OEM service manual and see what's what.

So, when you put a freshly charged battery in, it is still at 12.5V until you turn the key? Is this measured at the battery, or somewhere else?
Then, you turn the key and the Voltage drops to 0.5V? At the battery?

BTW, even though there are four contacts in the starter relay connector, only three are used. The red/white wire turns on the bank angle relay, which powers the run/stop and starter button switches.

As others stated one of the four prongs on the starter relay is left unused. There is a red/white wire that goes from the bank angle sensor to the relay for the bank angle sensor. The bank angle sensor has its own relay. That relay has four wires and one of the wires is red/white. There isn't any red/white wire on the starter relay.

It's physically impossible to mix up the starter relay with the relay for the bank angle sensor since the bank angle relay is located behind the center cover and takes some effort getting to it. If there is a red/white wire on the starter relay, somebody had modified the wiring.
