Hey, Ron, trying to make it there for the MS shindig, sounds like a fine event, but each plan so far has fallen through. Still trying to plan, looks like a long shot at the moment, not out of the question.
I will let you know if I am coming. Can you please pm me your phone #?

Realizing that scheduling this event on the Easter weekend does cause some scheduling issues, I know that Easter moves around on the calendar so, I looked up when Easter happens in future years.  This is the result.

Year   Day Easter Falls on.

2021   Sunday   April 4, 2021
2022   Sunday   April 17, 2022
2023   Sunday   April 9, 2023
2024   Sunday   March 31, 2024
2025   Sunday   April 10, 2025
2026   Sunday   April 5, 2026
2027   Sunday   March 28, 2027
2028   Sunday   April 16, 2028
2029   Sunday   April 1, 2029

While this is only a hope for future years to host this event, we’ll definitely attempt to schedule around Easter when that holiday conflicts with April Fools Day (the desired time frame).

Edited:  We'll shoot for either the weekend before or after Easter in the future.   The problem is, for some folks, scheduling this event on Easter weekend allows them an extra travel day.   For others, scheduling the event Easter weekend results in them not being able to attend.  We'll try to avoid getting into March for those who are traveling from up north.   But, it's impossible to schedule to fit everyone's needs.   Everything in the future is up in the air.   A higher authority has control of the weather.  Wink

Gig,
PM sent.

I sincerely do hope you’re able to make it to Mississippi Madness.  I attended your first Yooper ride and throughly enjoyed it.
Unfortunately, this year’s ride conflicts with already scheduled family stuff.
Reference those crawfish, I can show you several places that claim their’s is the best in the South.    But, the chances of serving that dish at a cookout are not likely at this point and BBQ seems more likely.
Edited:  just an FYI, please leave a message if I don’t answer.   My phone identifies quite a few calls as junk and goes to a silenced ringer.    Really cuts down on those sales or scam calls.

Rams

Ron:

PM received - thank you. I will call from (734) area code.

It would be nice to see you again up north sometime when you have less irons in the fire and branding is complete.  Evil

I am looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.  Good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise, I’ll be there.

I'm really happy you're trying to come to this Meet, Greet and Eat but, I gotta ask, are you coming from AL or CO?  I "think" i know but, that's based on what others tell me.  Cheesy

Alabama. I was supposed to have hand surgery early January.  Due to a darn dog bite in October, my surgery got bumped.  It is finally scheduled for tomorrow.  I’m am going to be pushing being able to ride by early April, but am not willing to rule it out yet.  I’ll have to confirm or bow out when it gets closer.  Fingers crossed!

OK, I guess I'll be the guy surrounded by beautiful women! If I can pull it off, that is... They usually shy-away from creepy looking old guys for the most part... May have to resort to wearing my Burt Reynolds mask... Wonder how offering to smell their hair might go over...? Nah, prollay no need to act presidential, I reckon.

I'm thinking that we all need a get together to remember how great it is to be part of such a wonderful fraternity of friendship and freedom.  And also to raise a glass to our brothers who have left us recently.  I don't know if I can make it but sure will try.

I think it would be fun to see everyone using this Relive app

https://www.relive.cc

And posting their route to Hattiesburg.

It can be a bit of a battery hog. I use a slim battery pack to make sure I have enough power.

Ron,

Well, here I sit... pondering and pinning... Man, I got me one serious case of cabin fever going on, but I'm just as seriously stuck in non-riding mode for a while... (clearly, I was never meant to be a Yankee) In case you're wondering, this totally sux! I keep reading of rides upcoming, and I keep imagining attending... Thank you for throwing this shin-dig, and for keeping the thread alive. At least I have now acquired a new-found understanding, appreciation, and a constant use for for the phrase 'vicarious thrill'! No, I haven't thrown in the towel or conceded your extravaganza will be but a vicarious experience for me; however, I do more clearly now see the value of imagination triggers... so, I ride on... in my mind... for the time being...

I plan on making a ride  and will see if the weather may throw us a snare. Only time will tell. The ride will be that Saturday morning and will end that evening. I have a good route but may cut it short depending on how late I get started that morning. I plan on leaving at 9 am and anyone can tag alone.

OK dang it, I can't hold my breath forever.   Did you get the bike?
I assume if you had, you would have told us something.

Rams   rider

Well, still no bike in hand. The one I made an offer on is still available and a decent buy but I have located another I think I like better. I have spoken with the owner of the second bike and there won’t be much if any dickering on it. It is two years newer and 20k miles less on the odometer, for $1,000 more. I think I feel good about paying the extra because I can get more background on it, the first bike was/is a trade in at an RV dealer and they have not been very forthcoming with details on the bikes history. This coming week should provide some definite results.

As a side note, I have been battling an on and off bout with gout in my left wrist this week. Had a doctors appointment for Monday already scheduled but got it moved up to today. No sleep at all last night, got to get this under control, no way I could operate a clutch lever today.
