I have issues with carbs leaking not bad but still a leak I’ve done everything but the fuel rail o rings, the bowl gaskets that I got were all bunched up not flat ,I put them in a book to flatten them out but I had 2 that slipped and started a leak now that I have them off for the third time is there anyway to bench test them before I put them on again? I sure hate doing this again.

Redeye has testing tools in his kit. You will need a Mighty Vac or some other hand operated vacuum pump. He supplies a piece of Lexan or Plexiglass.

1. Put the gasket in.
2.  Put the Lexan plate on the gasket.
3. Connect a Mighty Vac pump to the drain nipple with the drain screw open 1/4 turn.
4. Draw a vacuum on the carb bowl.
5. If the gasket will seal it will seal against the Lexan and hold.

The old gaskets were glued in. If the gasket grove is not clean, or it was gouged when cleaning out the old glue, it will leak. If the gasket grove is damaged, you may have to spring for the $16 tube of rubber gasket cement that Honda uses on the bowl side. It is a PITA to use, and isn't needed in most cases.

 I did my rail orings recently and totally disassembled and reassembled my carbs after getting the carb rack back together what I did was....because my tank was off my bike I put the tank on a card table and the carb rack on a box below it and ran a fuel line from the tank to the main fuel tube and opened the petcock (I have a pingel) and looked for leaks.

Yeah thanks for the reply, I bought new bowl gaskets from red eye and he sent me the plexiglass to test the bowl gaskets but I was wondering if I could bench test the rest of the carburetor before I remount them, I ran a gas line with a container full of gas but nothings leaking yet

YRUNVS thanks for the tip, was it very hard to break the carbs apart ? I rebuilt my carbs but didn’t take them apart

I took my carb rack off last year and did not break them apart and I paid for it this year with a leaky fuel rail. The red eye kit and you tube and the service manual and vrcc makes it easy.

I rebuilt my carbs a couple months ago.  I used the Red-eye overhaul kit. Once I finished assembling the carbs, I got a piece of fuel line probably a foot long and attached it to the T on the fuel supply line and filled it with gas.  I had no leaks so I installed the carbs. 

I performed the bowl gasket test per the Red-eye instructions though I didn't think it was all that necessary.  What was necessary was cleaning all the residue from the previous gaskets out of the groove and using a little glue on some of the gaskets that wouldn't lay right in the gasket groove.

My only problem upon reassembly was gas coming out the vent line.  I think it was caused by having the supply line from the petcock too long which forced the supply line T above the level of the vent lines.  After shortening the supply lines no more leak.
