https://www.ebay.com/itm/234087943468"CONDITION/DESCRIPTION: This final drive gear moves properly and has very little free play when moved, the splines are intact at both ends with no chipping or damage, there are scratches and marks on the outside of the housing, the mount bolts are intact. Plus, the splines are worn down so bad you could cut yourself on them. Unfortunately someone will buy it thinking it is good.

I sent the seller a message telling them that that part was worn out. That particular seller normally has decent parts, at decent prices. I am guessing that someone rated that part that had no idea what was good or bad.
Anyway they have pulled that part from the auction, and the seller sent me a message back thanking me for pointing it out.

Good on you. I hadn't dealt with them before, just stumbled across the ad.

This is why I 100% thank Charlie McCready for helping me out with a used 1500 Wing final drive he had, so I could bring mine back to good standings. I looked all over ebay before posting here looking for one, but either the listing had no decent pictures of the splines, or they did and they were worse than mine. People that aren't familiar with the Valkyrie (and the spline issues) look and see splines there, so they must be good . While we love our Valkyries, they are getting older, as are all of the used parts. Need to pay close attention to make sure you get what you're looking for.

I guess I'm not completely up to speed on the wear of final drives. What is the significant evidence that this one is worn out? Does someone have a picture of one that is in like new condition?

Good ... Thank you. I should have looked more closely at mine. They should have a flat portion across the top of each spline.
