Where are your favorite food spots with a good food item? I sure everyone has 'must eat' when they go somewhere. Might be a good place for us to stop when going through that town. Whether its bar food or a mom and pop diner.
Not much around my area but a local gas station here in Huntington Ind, the Huggy Bear, has the best biscuits and gravy I have ever had and I eat alot of it! Real creamy and just enough sausage to satisfy. Another B&G spot,  Grin , is the Super 8 in Winner SD. #2 on my list to get. This year wasn't as good as previous years but was still up there, esp for a hotel.

In my area, Huntington WV:

1)  Tudor's Bisquit World.   Great bisquits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches and real good baked steak for lunch.

2)  Hillbilly Hotdogs.  See them on Diners, drive inns and Dives.
              http://www.hillbillyhotdogs.com/

3)  Stewart's Hot Dogs.   One of the only drive inns left around here, great hot dogs and root beer.

Around here: Bergie's Bar has the best local fare. However, I do enjoy Slippery's (made famous by Grumpy Old Men) and if I am in the area, King's in Miesville (http://kingburgers.com/). I guess I only like burgers when I ride!

If you pass through Olathe, Kansas you'll want to eat at Oklahoma Joe's BBQ.  It's just off I-35 below 119th Street.  They're closed on Sunday.

If Mama's baking pies you may want to stop by the house before they're all gone so you don't end up looking like this.

IF YOU ARE IN THE COLUMBUS OHIO AREA YOU COULD ENJOY A GREAT EXPERIENCE AT 'CAP CITY DINER'.  THEY HAVE TWO LOCATIONS IN THE MARKET, MY CLOSEST AND FAVORITE IS ON HAMILTON ROAD IN GAHANNA (A 'BURB' OF COLUMBUS) NEAR MORSE ROAD.  IF YOU ARE PASSING THRU TOWN THIS IS A GREAT LOCATION FOR ACCESS TO DECENT MOTELS, ENTERTAINMENT, FOOD, ETC.

THE MEAT LOAF IS ABSOLUTLY MY FAVORITE BUT THEIR ENTIRE MENU IS OUTSTANDING AS WELL.  THE STAFF IS EXCELLENT, SERVICE GREAT, BAR AREA FRIENDLY.  WARNING....AVOID THE PRIME DINNER HOURS UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND A WAIT.  ENJOY.

YOUR IN LUCK ASLO IF YOUR NOT FAMILIAR WITH COLUMBUS.  THERE ARE MANY GREAT AFFORDABLE RESTAURANTS IN CENTRAL OHIO.  CANT GO WRONG FOR GOOD FOOD AND FUN HERE.

ONE MORE FAVORITE IS 'THE OLD BAG OF NAILS' IN OLD TOWN GAHANNA (MILL STREET).  FAMOUS FOR THE FISH AND CHIPS.  SUPER PUB STYLE.  DECOR IS GREAT TOO........I KNOW BECAUSE I DID THE FINISH CARPENTRY IN THIS ONE.

I have a favorite place on Long Island, NY that I've gone to for the past 25 years +. The Village CrossRoads Restaurant in Calverton.

When I still lived on Long Island, I'd be there every Saturday morning as their doors opened right at 7 AM for breakfast. Even now that I'm living in Virginia, when ever I make the trip back to Long Island to visit, I make sure I stop by the CrossRoads for my breakfast and they STILL remember what my standard order is and how to prepare it!  cooldude

This might be the best BBQ I've ever had and it's too small to have it's own website. It really is just a big shack along the side of the road. Pitmaster has been there 20 plus years.

It's MoMo's BBQ located a 20 miles south of HWY 68 on the south side of Hwy 27, Dayton, TN 37321

Here's a review I dug up: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/253579/momos_bbq_in_dayton_tennessee_great.html?singlepage=true&cat=16

Sometimes Kickstand and I go out for a morning ride from my house to EN Hines Parkway and take it till it stops in the village of Northville MI. We then go to the center of town and park next to the town square and right next door is a little resturant called "Riffles" were they serve a fabulous $3.99 breakfast. Sit at any table you want, nice table cloths, homemade food, nice (almost upscale) atmosphere, homemade bread or biscuits, and that includes a never ending pot of coffee at the table, perky waitresses, and view of the downtown foot traffic and all the interesting characters you'd ever care to look at.

After breafast,....well thats when the riding really begins!

Flying 'J', East side of Rapid City, SD right on an exit of the I/State.

Chicken Fried steak as big as your plate.  I kind of like these things.  I'd eat one before a filet or some Prime Rib places.

I'm assuming it is still that way.......   I stopped there coming back from Deadwood, SD about 3 years ago.........

Everything sucks by me in Lower Westchester, NY.  We eat out a lot due to late schedules and laziness.  We have tried ALL of the Diners, Chinese buffets, pubs serving families, and other assorted spots.  Haven't found anything that "we have to go back to" for under $100.  Cheesecake Factory is a really good place, but for the 4 of us it always cost $120 after tax and tip.  The "chain" type places are consistently mediocre (California Pizza Kitchen, Outback, Charlie Browns, etc.) but nothing great.  BBQ in this area is rediculously expensive.  The local take-out place gets $23 for a single rack of ribs without any sides.  I'm amazed that, with all the Jews living in Westchester, there isn't one good Chinese buffet!!!!!!!    Wink

Favorite subject.
In Tucson,One word for Italian, Gavi. Plan on bringing a book and waiting for dinner. Twice the wait time is still worth it. The prices are believeable, The portions are not. You will have lunch tomorrow.
Spicy calamari over spaghetini, tossed salad with house dressing, leave me alone.
Mexican food, New Mexico is the place where you cant go wrong. Mom-n-Pops exclusivley.
In Deming off the I-10 its Irma's. 123 S. Silver. Prices right outta the sixties. Eats right outta this world. I've had most of the menu and never a let down. Kinda warm for the really white folks so order accordingly. Its a 400 mile round trip and I've been twice,,,,,,,,for lunch.
Ammarillo texas, Gotta go to the BIG TEXAN. Ya cant miss it, visible from I-40. the chicken fried steak will do it every time. Put a clothes pin on the aorta and eat.
I could soooooo go on.

HG and I were on a trip I think 1995 or 1996...anyway we were traveling east of St Louis on I-70...kept seeing the signs about "Foot-High pie" at the Blue Springs Cafe in Highland Il...they are famous for their creme pies with foot high meringue, we have been back 4 or 5 times...food is served family style and is always good.

Breakfast around here has to be on 422 near prospect Roxy's diner for the whole hog sausage. Browns 488 in Portersville isnt to shabby.

Dinner, Iron Bridge inn off of 19. I have NEVER had a bad meal or bad part of a meal there or bad service not horribly expensive yet not a cheap meal, worth the $$. The same company owns a few different places, Rachels Roadhouse is a high quality bar food type place.

Been there several times Charlie . The last time we was there they said the ol'woman that ran the place was not doing good. She was on Good Morning America a few years ago. Alot of the Nascar teams and drivers always make a point to go there to eat when they roll into Bristol.

Fudgie, US36 is a major route for sturgis traffic coming from the east,  In downtown Marysville, Kansas half a block off US 36 is the Wagon wheel, BBQ, burgers, meals and beer.  For just beer, there is the local biker hangout Joe's bar, just down the street on Broadway.  You Probly wouldn't be interested in that though.  2funny hoser

When on the road I look for little "hole" in the wall places to eat.

Recently I ate at a place called Harry O's in Harlem, GA (Harlem is a small town west of Augusta).

One of my favorite things to eat is a "Big Juicy Cheesburger", the one that I had here is one of the best that I've had from a restaurant in years.

http://www.harry-os.com/About_Us.html

I'd definately reccommend this one to anyone passin' through the area.

We ate at a place called "Big Daddys" while passing through Louisianna in 2005.

http://local.yahoo.com/info-18242720-big-daddy-s-cajun-seafood-steak-iowa

It was a Cajun place reccommended by the locals.  I will definately eat there again if I find myself in the area.

It's in Iowa, La just off I-10.

On scenic hwy 7 about 60mi. north of I40 in Jasper Ar. the Ozark cafe has a good breakfast, burgers  and a buffet at lunch with good home cooking.  Wink

If your going south just out of Jasper on hwy7 and want to eat where there is a great view here is a good stop. The dining room sits out over the edge with a porch you can walk out on and look over.  cooldude

Then in Ozark Ar. just south of where the 'pig trail' begins  is Rivertown  BBQ. This place has the best smoked meat and bbq sauce around

Along US 19 in Crystal River, Fl is a place called Crackers. Sunday evening as folkes were leaving they all had to go boxes. After swimming with the manatees on Monday morning, we were ready to try it out. Oh my. I had the grouper basket appetizer, a side of cole slaw and onion rings, Anita the shrimp appetizer. More than we could eat. You gotta try it. And we met the owner of Wild Thing, pics later.

Here's their link.
