Just a suggestion, what about setting up a Go Fund Me page for Gig and Lulu?
As I am about as Tech Savvy as Caveman, I shouldn't speak as I have no clue how to do that, however we have done this in the past for our family here in the VRCC.
That way Theresa could hopefully rent an Air BNB or a hotel with kitchen and a place for Gris and be close to Brian without breaking her bank.
Further, I am sure there are still going to be medical expenses after and whatever money is left in the account could be put to good use to help out two of the greatest people I know.
Just a thought.

I plan on opening a page for Gig in the future, the need for it isn't immediate, but it will happen.

Update as of last night:

Gig's pupils are once again equal and reactive.  They have not done the MRI yet but are supposed to today.  Theresa slept at a motel last night, and slept through her alarm.  I woke her up when I called for an update.  She is going to call me with any news once she gets into the ICU.  She is very grateful for all your prayers, thoughts, and concerns.

Theresa called me about 2pm.  She was in the room with Brian, feeling pretty bad, and crying her eyes out, when he acknowledged her.  He opened his eyes and looked directly at her.  She asked him to show he knew she was there and he squeezed her hand and was moving his limbs, trying to get the vent tube out.  She started using Dudeisms (Big Labowski) and mentioning people's names that had been there or asked about him and he became very agitated.  They canceled the MRI and increased his pain med's to calm him down.  She is very happy that he recognized her, and is heading home tomorrow.  She will be picking up his van, and Grizwald, when she heads back down.  She plans to stay in the van in the parking garage with Grizz.  She said Grizz loves the van and will love staying in it with her.  Some great news for a change.

That story was a classic!  I've never looked at motel coffee makers the same again.

Seriously now, I just spoke with Theresa, Ryan and Gig's sister Lisa are with him.  He is awake and looking around, Theresa said he said "Hi Ryan".  So he recognized his son.  The vent tube is out but the feeding tube is still in his nose, and he is breathing on his own.  If he continues to progress he could leave the ICU in a couple days.  Your prayers are working.

Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, ICU.  When you get your visitor pass, the patient's name is Brian Leggieri, they'll tell you how to get to the room.

Good News!  Jig is out of the ICU!  I talked to Theresa around Noon and she said they moved him to the Brain and Spine Ward.  They fitted him with his window licker helmet yesterday.  They said they will probably replace the section of his skull in August, so he will have to wear the helmet until then.  They also took the staples out of the laceration in the back of his head.  Lulu said he talks, but not a lot.  Her and Griswold are back in Motown, and she will be heading back down Saturday night or Sunday.  Lulu is working and sounded much better.  Please keep the thoughts and prayers coming for a complete recovery.

Jane and I visited JIG Monday. Theresa said that they were planning to move out of ICU soon. Happy to hear that he has been moved. As she said, he talks some, but in a quiet whisper. I feel that he is on so many meds for pain and all. that he's a little slow at reacting to everything. He will be  OK, it's just going to take some time. Hopefully he can be moved close to home soon, and make things better for friends and family.

Great News!  I just got done talking to Jig on the phone!  Theresa is with him and he was able to carry on a conversation with me.  He said he forgot how to take a piss, so he still has a catheter in, I told him you don't have to remember how to pee, you just need to remember how to aim.  He seems to be doing very well with remembering people, and said he would love to have visitors, so if any of you are so inclined and can make it to see him, have at it.  He'd love some real food, but as of right now, he can have nothing by mouth.  Once he can swallow and eat, he'd like footlongs, subs, hell anything other than liquid food pumped into him.

It was SO GOOD just to talk to him, and very emotional for both of us.  I was not expecting him to be as coherent as he was, your prayers really did the job!  Keep them coming, and if you can swing by and see him.
