Clutch Plate B
Jess from VA:
When I use my bike jack for any extended work or hard wrench pulling, I get out two jack stands and put them under the forward engine guards, then let the jack down just enough to get the bike equally supported by both jack stands and the bike jack. At that point the bike is rock solid and I could trip and fall onto it, and it's not going anywhere.

It’s a family of parts item and fits 82 different models, to include Tourers which can weigh literally hundreds of pounds more than my little ‘97 Standard. I’m sure it’s been given an added percentage of safety margin above a fully loaded Tourer so I have no qualms whatsoever about nibbling away some clearance from a very nice forging. I did mutter a few expletives about the Engineers who chose that particular design with zero consideration towards maintenance and Mechanics.
I’ve worked with some incredible Engineers. I’ve also been responsible for seeing a few join the unemployment line. Notches on my file handle.

Watched a couple vids and decided to order some more parts before I delve into the cases.
I have an old set of jack stands that I’ll modify to work with the engine guards. Thanks Jess for giving me some shop time.

My jack stands are exactly like yours. Except not orange (LOL).
I needed no mods (?). Unless you're trying to go taller.

So now my 2nd parts order from Partzilla has also gone astray. Took them 3 days to ship and now it’s missing in the mail. Very mysterious.
My jack stands are ready as of today but we’re being buried in dust and 40+ mph winds for the 30th + time this year. This nano dust gets everywhere.
I’m really gonna have to get my work area cleaned up and hope I can keep it that way before I open up the cases.
Regarding the jack stands… I never really trust things that don’t clamp or have a positive fixation. I have equipment, so I make it into something I know won’t surprise me. Those are now dedicated Valk stands.
