I just have their sheepskin and think it's fantastic, but Alaska Leather also makes a sheepskin with gel version.

Bee, Jess From VA swears by Airhawk cushions.  Apparently they don't get as hot as gel pads.  I've got a sheepskin I use.  Even though it is black, it's a helluva lot better than the vinyl is.

Never tried any seat gels pads. I use seat beads to keep my rear a little cooler, works great for only 15$

when coming back from Bellaire Mi, i used one of my shirts to seperate my butt from the vinyl, it made a world of difference!  so i believe anything you use will be better then nothing!

I know your trying to help , so  I don't want to come across as bashing your thread...
I personally have a couple friends with Air hawk and the dread getting them.

It might be an Arizona thing though, they need it replaced yearly...yes yearly, the manufacturer
has been replacing them free but reluctant to do so...it is a fight every time, but so far they do.

Just a thought

And I have one, who I identified and who IS a VRCC member, who swears by them.  I've never heard Jess say he has had a problem with them.  Ever.  In fact every time we discuss seats he tries to talk me into getting one.  Right now I'm happy with my Ultimate Big Boy and sheepskin cover to prevent monkeybutt.

Marty

BTW, when you qualify a statement like you did saying you didn't want to come across as bashing my post, that's exactly what you're saying you are doing.  Your buddies' problems probably have to do with the extremely dry air causing the vinyl to dry out and the cushion to fail.

We had one guy here who bought one of those astro-turf door mats at Walmart and cut it out to seat shape.  Claims it worked well.

Yeah, I do swear by the Airhawk seat cushion... all year round (esp HOT weather) except for icy cold riding.  Lets air under your bum, and you float with no hot or sore spots (8-10 hour days, no problem).  And I use them on my Ultimates, which are great seats, but better with the air cushion.  They do not slip, even under emergency braking.  Do not need to be tied down, so go in the bags at stops.  I did blow one out by slamming down from standing on the boards to sitting, but otherwise I have never seen, read or heard of them routinely failing.  I will say the manufacturer is not that user friendly... my warranty (one year) was only a few weeks out, and it was just too bad for me.

You want a drivers Medium.

These are the best prices anywhere.  Note there is a new cheaper version with a polyurethane bladder..... I have the rubber.

No ... I just wanted others to know this product is not perfect , and I also stated it maybe a Arizona Heat thing.....I said it so a numbskull like yourself would not get butt hurt (pardon the pun), I was just relaying my experiences from Arizona which may not apply to cooler parts of the country, based on friends reports in which I know very well, and they  have the Airhawk seat cushion .
(husband and wife )

One Guy said he popped his by sitting on it after standing on pegs ?, and if these dry out in one year in Arizona , seems like a gippo product. At least for me it would be I hate to treat something like egg shells for that kinda money .

I guess I could have made a separate post about airhawk rather then quote you nicley, then I'm sure there would be another war by you saying I have one or my friend has one  and its fine !!!!
So what is the difference then ??? ( new thread or quoted thread ???? I was not picking on you directly) ???
