Good day to one and all.
I have just recieved my DAN MARC fuel cut off valve.I was just wondering what ia the lowest recorded mileage when the diaphram in the fuel petcock has given problems.
The reason i ask is because my Valkyrie only has 11500km (7188 miles) on the clock although it is a 1998 model. After fitting the valve i would like to keep my fuel petcock complete for as long as possible.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Safe riding.

MIne started giving problems at about 45k.

But here is the thing, every once in a while while riding, reach down and turn off the stock valve. After a bit (depending on your speed) you will be able to verify that it is still shutting off the fuel.

On the flip side of this coin, if you are running hard and begining to feel as if it's starving for fuel, but the valve is on and reserve doesn't help, then ruleing out a vacume leak or the vent hose is not kinked. Then it's most likely the peckot diaphram.

The last indicator is seeing a drop of fuel from the vent orfice at the bottom of the valve it self.

hope this helps Smiley

Nice. That's where my fuel filter is located.  What model of valve?

With Thanks to Oyeaa for originally posting this, I like the AFC Model 152 a lot better than the Model 111 that many have used. The Model 152 has a built in filter and a magnetic particle trap. This is another source besides Dan-Marc and you've got to love the price!

Dan-Marc also sells this valve here:

Our discussion of the two valves, with pictures, is here:

Pretty simple, actually.  One lead to ground, and one lead to a circuit thats switched by Ignition switch,
Preferably the accessory circuit
