I am amazed that after having a girl found that tried to kill herself that no one would dig deeper in to see if they could help her and others with something really to offer to change a life instead of just turning her over to shrinks and public officials that dont give a hoot. I guess when you wear religion on your sleeve that you can take it off when the need arises. So much for religion cant do it with relationship though.

As for Amanda, the girl that tried to “off” herself, I had asked how she was doing, and the reply I got was that it’s a private matter and no more was released. In reality, so is religion and politics, just like a person’s sex life, or sexual preferences, there are some things that some people just don’t like to discus. Me personally, its religion, or the whole god thing. For others it’s the sexual practices of their neighbor (not that it’s any of their business unless they’re the one’s being pursued….)
Let’s face it, people really do hate each other, we don’t like others that are different from ourselves. Even if they look the same, the will find fault in the way the other person is. We like things to stay the same, we like consistency. I believe the hardest thing for a person to accept is that we’re all different. You may be offended by one person’s love of “hooters” while that person may be offended by your love of “turtles” (or what ever it may be).
The greatest accomplishment a civilized society can obtain is the acceptance of change, and the tolerance of diversity.
And as for the lack of Valkyrie related posts, face it, half the country is salt covered or freezing!!! My poor girl is laying stripped naked, parts all over the place in my shed as I perform major overhauls to my stereo system, carburetor adjustments; LED additions (as if 200 are not enough), still waiting for that universal joint, driveshaft replacements, changed out my tire valve stems, and god knows what else will be next!!!

I'm pretty sure I've never said a word to you in person or on this forum. As for Amanda we did what we did ( save her life ) her Dad told me he would " Stay In Touch " the day she got out of the hospital....He has my number and he's never called. I'm not going to become a stalker cause her Ol'Man lied to me....We've ( Greg ,Big Al, Gordon,Paul and myself ) talked about it and all of us are cool with it ...We did what needed to be done.It must be easy for you to sit behind your computer and judge me.

Pastor Robert: perhaps you should mosey on up there and stick (your) nose into her business, Joe and the Guys are doing exactly what they said they would, which is stay out of it unless notified, You do not know how many people contacted Joe willing to help or how many sent cards. Post what you want, but please try not to attack someone for doing a good deed. Joe, Al, Gordon & Paul you rock, do not let this guy rattle you.

I don’t understand this posting at all . . . . Those guys who found and rescued this young woman are heroes. What part aren’t you getting? Many people, maybe even most, would have done nothing that day on the mountain. If and when I ever get the chance, I’m looking forward to meeting these guys and buying them a cup of coffee.

Hey Robert lighten up. I know the weather isn't bad where you are, so get out and ride. Those guys that helped Amanda would have done the same for you or anyone else and are doing what was asked of them. I have ridden with most all of them and would any day if they would let me straggle along and tell me where they are going to stop next. I think maybe you were just bored so decided to stir up something. And yes I saw the smiley.

Let me clarify for all first I felt like the religious posts where cut off they didn't harm anyone and in fact helped a few and the the rules of the road were followed. So when I was cut short and others I felt that there was a bias not to post religious posts. I know that there was bickering and as Willow did gracefully point out were a bit long. To me sharing our experiences riding is important along with sharing other things but sharing what the Lord has done is life changing, So I kinda wanted to clear the air a bit. Thanks to Det8 I hope you are feeling better I do miss you posting on the board and yes I have stopped pouting well put Let me just say one thing about the girl that wanted to commit suicide she needed the Lord desperately. I am proud of Joe and others who found and helped her and did a great job. When we see people like that we tend to reflect on life and sometimes the serious nature of it. There are thousands out there just like her and I ask all here what do you have to offer anyone in that situation that will be a real help? How do you know who they are when you pass them on the street? Anyone who would try to take their own life is not in their right mind and this is the work of the enemy and is demonic. Sometimes you only get one chance to change a life give it your best shot prayer, salvation the Lord and let Him deal with things from there. This of course when the proper authorities have been notified. Joe knows the power of the Lord in Presley offer that hope to others. It doesn't matter if they are unconscious lay your hands on them and pray the spirit is always awake. Thats what I mean if the Lord and the Bible is real why do we not put the power we know is there to work. Why dont we pray for our families and friends like there is real power there, like prayers really mean something. That should be our first defense and offense but we miss hearing from the Lord everyday and doing His work and helping others with His power He wants to use each and everyone of us. In this way maybe there would be less posers and more that see the real power of the Lord and what He can do through us including Love. I am tired of people with their bad attitudes and me lifestyle making the Lord look like a joke and turning people away instead of loving them and being close to the Lord and exhibiting His power and not being embarrassed to say let me pray for you. Knowing that we have a inheritance of power love peace of mind and confidence that God will answer prayers. Yes even raising the dead I say these things to all mostly to myself I single no one out or in but use what happened as the only example readily available. This is how I view my relationship with the Lord and know what He can do. Its not a after thought but a first thought. I also dont know if Joe prayed for the girl that was never stated. By the way thanks to all who responded, Willow I dont drink No not even beer never liked the taste Listen to this story in song

I know you believe your religious views are a panacea for every evil and ill on the human race. Others may believe differently. What Smokinjoe, Big Al, and Greg did that fateful day was to save a life, and I salute them for that. What that family does NOT need is for outsiders to invade their privacy with the notion that if they followed a certain religion, this wouldn’t have happened, or they need religion to get them through this ordeal. This is a private matter, and we should respect their wishes, even if that includes not contacting the rescuers or others.

Hloy $h!t, Batman, I must have missed something, is the winter weather really so bad that we have to bicker over these matters? If you can, ride, if you cant, dream of riding, if that don't work, then take the Fat Lady apart and put her back together, but damn people, is this necessary? We all have our views but I do not think it's worth fighting about.

Bobo You missed the point I would never want them to violate their privacy. Thats why I said you have one chance. Next religion will never help this situation but a relationship with the Lord will which is really my point. You have no idea of the possibilities.

As Little Amanda layed there fellows, Greg in a humble tone told me(BIG AL) to pray for this
young lass because it really looked by all indications that she was a goner.
Joe rode his arse off with cell phone held high to get a signal and after his phone went dead
he mugged a couple of bicycle riders to use theirs.
Got help on the way.
Prayer was used first. Not last or even in the middle.
She was blessed when Joe spotted her.
She was blessed to be still alive so we could help her.
SHe was blessed to have a good doctor that saw her through Intensive Care.
Another Doctor in CCU.
Her friends and loved ones gathered around to comfort her.
She will never even ever meet us, but she has blessed our lives because
we were allowed to help another Human Being.
But Lord have Mercy I don't want to do it again.
It was not easy seeing that transpire, mush less as Greg and I helped her to simply breath.
I don't know how the people that see this everyday cope with it.
Thank Goodness they do.

Anyone who would try to take their own life is not in their right mind and this is the work of the enemy and is demonic.
I diagree. Folks with illness-emphysema cancer etc- refuse medications to help prolong their life. Without it they die. Basicly they are ending their own life. I see no demonic work going on. If you have had enough and ready to die, then so be it. I think the way you end your life should not be judge. Wheather you do it fast by shooting yourself or decide not to do chemo anymore. One way cannot be judge better then the other.
The TN gang did a good job. I also agree with bobbo.

Fudgie people who decided not to take drugs to prolong life doesn't really equate with those taking drugs to end a life.
Marcel I am glad to hear about prayer and could imagine how tough it must have been but everyday we see people who are on the edge of loosing hope, some think that they have tried religion and maybe they have, but let me ask all a question when the apostles did their miracles did that end or do we still have that same power with us today? Are the gifts of discerning of spirits, healing, miracles, word of knowledge still alive? Do we have the power of course through Jesus to do the same things the apostles did? Could you imagine what it would be like to have the Lord speak to you about some one and you go to that person and pray for them and they are healed or get a word on how to change a situation that they have been needing some help with. I tell you its not only possible but this is a kind of relationship that God wants with us. To be able to use us this way to experience Him first hand. In this way the naysayers would be hard pressed to utter a single word if we would realize who we really are in the Lord and get close enough to Him to allow His Holy Spirit to work through us. The Bible says it is good to desire the gifts, the Holy Spirit is given for power and to work together with you for the gifts to be able to come alive in you. Would you like to be able to give a daughter, friend, wife, a word from the Lord that changed their life? Do you have questions that you want to ask the Lord then come close enough to hear Him and the words that Jesus spoke, greater works than these you will also do will come alive to you.

A guy came to buy a car that I had sitting around and he and I got to talking as things went on of course we started to talk about the Lord. Well he said a sinners prayer and I prayed for him and the power of the Holy Spirit was there in a strong way. He recounted a story to me about a month after he got saved his cousin got in a bad accident so bad he was in a coma and not expected to live. Well Joe went to the hospital and his cousin still in coma felt led to pray for him and lay his hands on him. He was there awhile and when he stopped he looked and there was a tear coming from his cousins eye. Still in a coma though, He did wake up and told Joe I knew you were there with me I knew we were together. He did obviously wake and did make a miraculous recovery and told Joe this story. This is the work that God has appointed us to.
