Not wishing to openly offend anyone, but I've removed a Harley bashing thread.

Reason:  I'm just tired of it.  Don't we as Honda riders get enough of that to make it undesirable to us?

If someone has a discussion to contribute that happens to involve another motorcycle brand, I have no issue, but if you want to make a post solely for the purpose of ridiculing a particular motorcycle brand, please don't.   Undecided

Of course, I could make an exception for the Victory Vision.   Roll Eyes

No, No!  Disregard that last.  Even the most obvious is unacceptable.   Angry

I’ve been meaning to ask you why all my threads are disappearing!!

It’s not my fault that people chose to purchase inferior motorcycles.  I’m just trying to educate them on perfection.

Next thing you’re going to delete are sarcastic commentaries, aren’t you??

Actually, no. It's our house, Willow & staff are just the babysitters. True,
they make and enforce the rules but it should be up to us to keep our
house clean. I've cut WAY back on my harley bashing...mainly cause
it ain't fun no more. Roll Eyes

Good point. After all, if we believe our Valks are so much better-then we as Valk riders should be above that.
Vision opinions are like artwork opinions, no one is wrong-they just see things differently.

Shoot, if I didn't ride with Harleys, I wouldn't be riding with most of my best friends and family members.  Or Canams, or Yamahas, or Kawi's.....etc.  All bikes are sweet bikes.....If it cuts the wind, it is good with me.

May just be me, but I usually decide on if I want to share the wind with someone based on the person in the saddle - not on what's underneath it.  But that is just me.....

Would it be OK to bash brands like: NSUs, Adlers, Simplexes, Urals, CZs JAWAs and other makes no longer made?

Yeah,...there's one in every crowd. And we've made all those HD riders so mad, that they won't play nice with us anymore!

I could be completely off the mark here-but last i checked people were allowed to spend their money on any dang thing they wanted to. I looked and test rode a lot of m/cs for i ended up with what i got. I get bashed a lot for ridin a (rice burner) i dont say to much usually-I let six cyliders approx one hundred horse power do the talking. uglystupid2 I have found out that one lesson is normally enough. coolsmiley Then try to explain to them later that the bike is indeed twelve years old. The uneducated get an education rather quickly.  2funny RIDE SAFE.

Any time I'm tempted to "bash" all I do is look back at the things I've ridden over the years...and why.

(has severe burn scars in a "personal" area from an exploding Bull Taco, and yep, that's a motorcycle...in the loosest sense of the word).

Willow; it’s probably a good call, and judging by the early returns, it’s a popular call, but if you start deleting opinions and comments that you’re “tired of” that can be a slippery slope my friend. Was there foul language involved in the Harley posting?  Just curious. I’m also curious how you haven’t become “tired of” some of the other popular themes here from Obama hating (I’m guilty of joining the pack on this one) to God bashing! It’s all here over and over and over and over again. . .   For me personally; I stopped reading ANYTHING concerning car tires about two years ago.

For the record; I don’t think I ever bashed a Harley here. .  . At least I don’t remember doing it, but I may have. A couple of my friends have owned nothing but Harleys, so the good nature ribbing goes on all the time. And, I’ve belonged to a few ‘clubs’ in my life. The first was one when I was still a ‘boy’ and I’ve been trying to forget those years. We all rode Harleys and they all leaked, overheated easily, and ran like crap (just a fact!) Mine was an AMF era bike, so I cut the current version some slack and try not to compare them to the 10 years of garbage the bowling ball company put out.

Anyway, running this board has to be ‘challenging’ at times. We’ve talked before via e-mail and I know you try to be fair. Keep up the good work.

You're right, Jerry.  I sifted through the Rules of the Road and could find no specific item to apply although we do have an entry that prohibits "hateful and bashing comments ... especially those those aimed at sexual orientation, gender, race, color, religious views, national origin or disability.  I probably should have applied that prohibition rather than just saying I was "tired of it."  It's a grey area for certain.

Incidentally, I'm considering removing all post presented in orange.   Wink

This board administration function is trial and error at best with large doses of both.

I've always believed "Its not what you ride, but IF your ride.  I know my Valk is the best bike around and I haven't ran against a Harley yet.  I've ridden a Harley a few times and was not impressed, but just because I don't like it doesn't mean others will follow my lead.  And yes, I've made plenty of HD jokes, but I try Roll Eyes to keep my opinion to myself.  I will say there is a fellow worker that is going to park his HD and will be buying a Valkyrie.  cooldude  He rode mine and came back with a smile a mortician couldn't remove.  His wife even likes it.  Another convert maybe.  But one thing I have learned, opinions vary.

If I was to buy a brand new cruiser bike it would be the Vision. Without the trunk which looks horrible.

Excelent ergos, excellent floorboards that aren't too low to the ground, excellent wind/weather protection, little vibration and enough get up and go to keep me happy.

The 20 mile test ride I did was an eye opener.

Ask me about the Triumph Rocket and I'll pass on the bike thanks.

A riding buddy has a 2010 H-D. Can't remember which model - no trunk and a low faiirng like an I/S. It handles as well as a Valkyrie and is just as quick through the twisites.

That Pacific Blue Pearl Harley looks familiar.

I changed the sticker out from Bullett Hole to Lady on a Plane.

No Shop Visits, no leaks, no failures of any kind, does not use oil, 2007 and 30,000 miles.Electraglide Standard with a few goodies such as a

CD player AM/FM/Weather Radio, and Chrome Passenger Boards Courtesy of Lucky 13, Fairing Lowers, backrests driver and passenger, leather drink holder

Vance and Hines Duals, Python Mufflers and Screamin Eagle Open Air Box, Vance and Hines Fuel Pack for the EFI adjustment.

Will do the twisties just fine, not as fast as the Valk, from 80mph on up. But will cruise all day at 85-90 in 6th gear, at 2700 rpm.

Like I said in my last "H-D bashing" post, it's pretty damn juvenile anyways and does not reflect well on the basher.

There are a lot of us Valk riders on here that also own Harleys....at this time I have two of them in my garage. I for one have no problem with the jokes and a good ribbing, but agree about deleting the mean bashing threads.
