I'm running 12" shocks(HD springs) with a Bridgestone Potenza G009 205/60x16 car tire. Has anyone installed the 6 deg. rake trees with a similar setup? If so, what has been your handling characteristics or changes? I would think with my bike sitting this low in back I wouldn't want to use any kind of fork extenders to raise the front...but I'm just "thinking out loud" on that. To me it seems the rake would extend/lower the front to more closely match the rear as it now sits. I now flat-foot it with my knees bent and it's very comfy...for me anyway(30" inseam).

John,

That would be a good question for Daryl of XF6/VTXtreem...  Yes, he sells the raked TT's, but he strives for happy customers.  Give him a call, ask your questions, and be ready for a geometry lesson  Wink  Daryl really knows his stuff, has hundreds of his trees out there (VTX's, GW's and HD's), and will not lead you astray.

http://www.xf6-custom.com/ (he is a club sponsor too).

Yes, he's my friend, I may be a bit biased, but other VRCC'ers that only know him as a vendor, will back me up.

Good luck!

Ive got a similar setup to you on my Standard.  I have a 205/55 CT with 11.5 inch Progressives in the rear.  I did not get the fork extenders.  I also have about 30 inch inseam.  I did not know Daryl till I ordered my rake kit.  Now hes kind of like a friend though we never met.  Call him and he will answer all your questions. Feel free to ask me any questions you have.  Heres a few links of discussions on the rake kit.

Yes, Daryl is also a good friend....as he is to many members. I've spent a lot of time chatting with him, both in person and via the phone. I was looking for input from riders that have a setup similar to mine, what they experienced in handling, etc., I do love the look with the raked trees.

MC Tire, 11.5 inch shocks, no fork extensions and the 6 degree raked tree. Handles so much better than my Interstate, I love it.
