I am working on a way to replace the piggies on my I/S. The original owner cut them and drilled some of the baffles. What is the length of the originals. Are they all the same or staggered? I am sort of doing an experiment to see if I can get rid of the drone even though the baffles are drilled. I can make them all straight because I am going to use the 4" truck stacks that came with it.

Thanks John

The piggys on my I/S are all the same lengh. They look like they are about 1/2 inch shorter than the exhaust tip

Can you tell me the length of the stock exhaust tip? I don't have one, just the stacks.
The stacks start turning before the end of the bags, so I may not be able to make them as long as the originals anyway. I may play around with the lengths to try and "tune" the sound some.

Thanks

Ok Thanks. I'm off to the garage. Will start a new thread with the results and pics if this works.

Those four inch truck stacks are probably more responsible for the drone that bothers you than the three little piggies that are in each end of the stock mufflers.

I doubt you find any relief with a re-do of the piggies.

The length of the exhaust protruding out from the rear of the bike will have a greater affect on attenuating the drone. Again, the direction to where the exhaust is pointed is also a large part of the drone equation.

Helmets are seeming to be the largest co-conspirator when discussing drone, so picking a helmet becomes very important when hoping to reduce the drone effect.

Sorry to disappoint Ricky. Actually you are right. It is the stacks that cause the drone. Adding the piggies eliminates the stacks. Please see the thread here. http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,35893.0.html
