I was wondering if any more thought has been given to integrate this forum with Tapatalk for us mobile junkies . I know the subject was brought up a year ago http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,25430.0.html. I don't know how much trouble it would be or how much interest there is. http://www.tapatalk.com/ Looks like a one time fee for setup with the possibility of generating revenue .

I can pull it up on my Android as well with the included browser, Tapatalk uses a different format specifically for mobiles that makes it easier to read and interact.

I installed it on a vBulletin forum I admin, and I love it, and my users love it. Basically, it's just an app that formats the forum to be easier to navigate on a mobile device.
Only cons I can think of:
-I think the app is still pay (But free for the server side, just the client side is pay) -Any advertisements the site puts up will NOT show up for Tapatalk users.
The server side install was incredibly quick and simple (For vBulletin at least)
I'm a fan, and wish it was here as well. In fact, this site is the only forum I still regularly go to that isn't Tapatalk enabled yet.

Advertising is the hangup for us here at the VRCC. We have paying sponsors who advertise here on the message board and as far as I can see there is no way to push our ads through tapatalk. We can't keep the lights on without our sponsors.
The percentage of members who access this forum via a mobile device is extremely small at this point in time.(I am one of them and inflate what small percentage there is) Enabling the ad network(VigLink) via the tapatalk app would amount to pennies and not worth annoying the members that would use the app. Besides, when was the last time you clicked on mobile ads on your mobile phone? I certainly don't, and most trends say that others don't either.
Which of course would also be unfair to our paying sponsors.
I certainly understand wanting to use the app. I'm an iPhone user myself and fully embrace the mobile world we live in. But at this time it is not something we can do as things stand.

Scott, I appreciate your response and understand completely where you are coming from. Doing a quick search on the Tapatalk app for motorcycles I come up with 876 forums that participate. I don't know the rationale for these forums participating and whether or not they have experienced increased traffic, but it seems like a popular place to showcase their brand. The bottom line is if it doesn't make sense to do it then it doesn't make sense! I personally follow 5 forums on Tapatalk and follow them on my pc as well.

Thank you for the consideration of Tapatalk. I was the Admin of my forum when it was "active". I decided to install everything on Vbulletin and things seemed to cruise pretty much by itself. Tapatalk is a wonderful tool to utilize the communication market via cell phone. I do understand your concerns about your sponsors and thats a VERY valid point. At the point that I decided to install the Tapatalk for our community usage, our member count was well over 800 members. It was voted on as a whole by ALL of our free memberships that we had at the time. Surprisingly, soon after that move, we sky-rocketed above 1,000 members in a matter of weeks. The point i'm trying to make is this: User friendly web page via tapatalk is what drew some of our new members in, when not accessing the forum via phone....the computer was readily avaliable, our member count went up by leaps and bounds hence gaining business for our sponsors when accessing by computer.
I am NOT trying to convince you to install Tapatalk b y no means. This is my attempt to give a success story of what I know to be true first hand. You have agreat forum here and I LOVE coming here for knowledge and advise. Mostly I do A LOT of reading since I'm all new to the Dragon world.
Thank you, Tim

Another vote for anything that's makes the smart phone interface with this site more user friendly. Many here are out riding and use the site. The growth in computing is the mobile market. That said my I phone works well to the site now, but other phones may not. A while back I looked at a free version of Tapatalk. They had just released a new version. The reviews said the advertisements made it hard to use. I just checked and maybe the free version is gone and the $3.95 version reviews said Tapatalk fixed the complaints.

Scott thank you for NOT adding another layer to the already aggravating advertisers. I on my I phone have no problem without any interface to conform to, in seeing the Board, responding and doing what I need to do. I find the sales pitch of new gimmicks totally frustrating and learning how to manipulate all of them to see what you want want is most annoying. Thanks again not only to Scott but to the admins of the board in keeping things consistent. Older phones will be dying off so accommodating a need that will soon be gone seems pointless.

have no idea what you guys are talking about. Ignorance is Bliss! Hoser That makes two of us. That makes three of us. I've seen it before, but not sure what/how it works. That said, I log on with my Droid DNA android phone or my Nexus 7 tablet when I'm at work from time to time and have zero problems seeing and interacting with the full site on my mobile devices.

have no idea what you guys are talking about. Ignorance is Bliss! Hoser That makes two of us. Tapatalk is a small addon the board administrator installs on the forum so that you OPTIONALLY can use a dedicated program to access the forums from mobile devices. It presents the content of the forum in a native app to the mobile device, making it FAR easier to read and post on forums from a native device. Having said that, even if the Tapatalk component is installed on the forums, there would be 100% NO difference for desktop users, and mobile users could still use the web view of the forums as they currently do. So the short version is, it would make the forums far easier to use from a mobile device, but would change nothing at all unless you WANTED it to. (Yeah, I'm a bit biased and really wish we'd get it installed. I understand the concern about advertising but from my own experience on the forum I run the number of users went up enough from installing Tapatalk that the total page views of the ads we ran on the web side actually went UP overall.) Anyway, sorry to do a little bit more of this, but just trying to clarify what we're talking about to those that were concerned...
