I have pulled a trailer for several years now.

Naturally it does handle different, but it can certainly handle it. Balance is everything. Make sure your cargo is properly loaded. Keep in mind it takes a whole lot more stopping time, corners differently, and the one thing I see a lot of people do is "Forget they have added width". I have seen people pull into a gas station and when they pull up to the pump island they pull the bike up nice and close. Then all of the sudden WHAM! the trailer wheel catches the curb.
Don't cheap on the set up. Make sure you get a good hitch, as well as your wire harness is right.
