Ok I can't be the only who has encountered this. My right side caliper is the issue. I took off that small screw cover which cover the hex head socket for the pin which goes thru the brake pads. I tried to unscrew that  socket head pin bolt and the threads stripped. Crapola! so I trick I've used in the past is to tap in an oversized Torx head into it. They really grip well. For sure it thought I'd get it out. NOT! Now that's not gripping anymore.

I need help getting this sucker out . Any idea's would be greatly appreciated. I don't really want to buy a new caliper.

Thanks Gerry Lips Sealed

Search is your friend.  I gave a detailed description of my solution to this very problem.

i got you now for the fix.....

use a small locking vise grip on the shaft between the the brake pads it will break loose the bolt.

just don't tighten down,, it needs no more than just snug... when you put on the locking pin it will also tighten the bolt

 thanks

The link posted by Custom1 is what I was talking about.
I just did several searches with the following terms:
hex stripped
pin stripped
brake pin
caliper pin
All of these had helpful posts come up on the first page of results.

Icemanisintexas, you say you did a search, so this may not apply to you, but all too often a newbie has some problem with or a question about their Valkyrie, and they post on the tech board without checking to see if the topic has been addressed before.  The Valkyrie and this site have been around long enough that 99% of issues have been addressed often enough that there is likely little additional information that could be provided.  Information can always be presented more clearly, answers to questions often lead to new questions, and new aftermarket products occasionally appear, so an active board continues to be helpful, but newbies, please make use of the search function and the vast amount of information that has already been provided before essentially asking other members to do the search for you.

That's a hardened steel pin, so if you want to use a vice-grip type tool, you will have to really crank down hard on the pin in order to get purchase.

Having a new spare pin would be the smart option.

I will tell you that I'm not a newbie to this forum. Because I don't post a lot doesn't mean i don't use this forum a lot. In fact I've found answers to most previous issues by searching. I did in fact  search  and I obviously wasn't hitting the right keywords so that's when I decided to post my question. I guess if you new the answer and where to find it wouldn't have just been easier to point me to the link for the solution vs. assuming I was a newbie and didn't search?

Well I will now say thanks for pointing me to the solution and I did in fact order the Grabit Pro kit from their online store www.grabitstore.com.  I've also already order a new pin bolt from the dealer and It should be here next week. Thanks

I offer my apologies.  I stand by my statement about how newbies sometimes use this forum, though as you stated, it doesn't apply to you.
