I fear that if I mess with it any more........I will make it worse. Any tips on getting it out? It's a 6mm hex head screw. And it is recessed too far in, so you can't get any tool around it. I was taking front tire off to replace it with another Avon. All of the other bolts came out with little difficulty. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !!

Found one of mine broken at the last wheel removal. The head was snapped off completely. I was able to get a drill bit into the remaining stud and once it got a good bite it screwed itself right on through and out the back side, so i never had to resort to an easy-out. You might be able to do the same thing with yours if you come at it from the back side, just soak it with some penetrating fluid before you start. Good luck!

To start with, put the other bolt back in, it takes some of the tension off the bad one and makes it easier to loosen. Then see if you can get another hex wrench or something in it.

Put the 2nd bolt back in as suggested and tapped a 6mm allen head socked into bolt top......got just enough of a bite to get it to turn out. Thanks for the advise again!! Tire is off and waiting to be replaced.

I had same problem 2 tire changes ago. I stripped pinch bolt and took it in to small moto shop near me i use sometimes to change tire. they fixed it with no problem and i asked how they fixed it and the owner said they just took the next larger hex an pounded the sh!t out of it into the bolt and it came out.
since then i got a similar product mentioned by Gryphon Rider from Lowes for future use. stripped the pin hanger for brake pads when i was torquing after installation. stopped immediately when i noticed it slipping and have got new pins so will get around to it sometime before i need new padsl

Those pinch bolts torque to 18 ft/lbs. Don't overdue it when reistalling.
