After several cleanings of my starter button I just want to replace the whole assembly.  Where is the starter switch assembly wire connection.  I was going to order another switch but was looking at the wires and can’t see the connection point?  Is it a difficult fix? I know it was just plug and play but can’t see where it hooks up.  Do I need to take the tank off?

As mentioned - you have to buy the entire assembly. Both halves of the housing and all the switches. $$$$$ They don't sell just the switch. Maybe someone knows where to get it aftermarket. Good Luck!

What he wants to know is, Where do the wires that come with the switch assembly plug in, in a Tourer. Headlight?  Neck? etc.

Refer to the link on how to install a relay to take the high amp load off that starter/headlight circuit. That seems to be the major cause of eventual failure of the little slider switch contacts. When I did it on mine, I simply mounted the relay inside the headlight bucket, bolted it down with one of the three bucket mounting bolts. At the time I first did the change I figured out the difference in amperage but it seems like it dropped the amps carried by the starter button contacts from around 3-4 amps to less than 1. Someone can correct me on that, just going by memory but it is a substantial drop.
