OK, this frustrating. This is a common item most often found on women's bags and even on motorcycle handlebar bags, etc. It a button looking thing. On one part you have a hole and on the other part you have a twistie thing that fits into the hole. You turn the twistie thing a half a turn to lock the two pieces together. The pouch on my take bib is held closed with velcro. The velcro is wore out and the flap flaps in the wind. i want to put one of these things on it to hold it closed but I don't know what it's called, hence I can't find it.

A twist lock thingy perhaps? Bet Talisman (site sponser) leather tank bibs and stuff could help ya.

I believe Turn Lock is what you're after, and here's a bit of deja-vu: http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,37389.0.html

I read your post to my wife. She laughed for about 7 minutes and she said it's just called a locking clasp.

you can try any sewing/crafts store, such as Jo Ann's Fabrics, they carry stuff like that, I have fixed many a thing using that store, they do not just carry knitting supplies..

Oops, my age is showing. I'll check the local sewing / craft stores and if I can't find it locally I'll order it from Tandy. Thanks all.

Your local shoe repair might have them... and they might be able to attach it..
I have a local guy that repairs lots of leather goods....

Have you considered just replacing the velcro ?
The velcro on mine is about worn out and that is what I plan to do.

Thank you sir, no doubt I'll find the right one in this selection. I thought about replacing the velcro but that would require a sewing machine and sewing skills, neither of which I have. I figure a twisty lock would be a permanent fix.

I figure a twisty lock would be a permanent fix. You'd be surprised at how well either contact cement or Shoe goop would hold a fresh strip of velcro on. Cheap and requires no special skills- right up my alley.
