Saw something like that on a Valkyrie.

Mass modification along with mass quantities of money.

And in the end, it did not look that good.  Really!

I've seen one but it was a custom made swingarm. The original was cut and rewelded with 2 U joints. One at the input cup and the original on the tranny output shaft. Of course the Valks handling is a feature many of us appreciate. You may make it harder to sell someday.

Sorry, but if you think the Valkyrie has a "bad ass V-6", a 300 fat tire kit, if one existed, would probably be quite frustrating to install.

You probably need to look up some European websites...maybe German...seems like the few I've seen like you describe were over the lake....

Correct me if i'm wrong but I believe that's Dogg's bike. While badass looking I remember him having problems with the offset gearbox not having the balls to keep up with the supercharged motor. http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,28102.0.html

I'll bet that even though it looks great, It is more than a challenge to ride, not even considering the power.  Everyone I have ever talked that owns a bike with one of those  says those giant rear tires love a strait line and don't like to go around corners.  I would love to be wrong, cuz it looks so cool.   Cool

Maybe Dogg will chime in. His bike uses a jackshaft on the tranny output. It widens the drive shaft spacing so only one U joint is needed.

Here's a website for a wide tire kit for a VTX - a 240/250 tire.  Only $3000 for the bolt-on kit...shoot, I think I'll buy two!   Roll Eyes

It doesn't exist.  It'd be cheaper to buy a used VTX and put a 250 kit on it.  They're readily available for the VTX......for the Valk....nadda.  The biggiest tire you can put on a Valk is a 200.

I beleive some one once got a 215 or a 225 DS tire on a valk by working the swingarm down on the inside area. The swingarm has plenty of room to remove some of the tube and rewelding the cut out area after making clearance for the bigger tire. IT seems to me like a lot of work for a small gain.

Can you prove that there's a "kit" available tank?  It can be done, but there's still NO direct bolt-on "kit" available that I'm aware of.

Please provide links to all of the 300 tire kits that you're aware of tank.   I'm sure others would like for you to share that info.

And I stand corrected on the 200 tire, however, it was in regards to a motorcycle tire....not a car tire.

In 2004 Hal @ Honda Direct Line was making a wide tire kit for the Valkyrie, but it fell through. Word was cost of producing would not justify making them for sale as the market would be very limited.

This is correct.  I put a 215/60/17 Michelin Hydroedge on mine  by doing this mod.  Wasnt much trouble, I cut a strip top and bottom of the drive shaft tube, pressed it tograther and welded it closed.  Gave plenty of room, but I did have a problem wirh rubbing on the front fender mounts, and had to do some modifications there.

I guess the moral of the story is yes it can be done. However the cost is huge....Those bikes that have the 300 kit on them must be in the neighborhood of $30,000....Why will noone touch a Metric bike? Uggh......I should have headed to Arkansa for some good ideas....Maybe next year

+1 on the 240 tire. It would look great and proly still handle decent. I'd rock it if it wasn't gonna be 3g. Custom rim? Our 5 incher is a bit smallish.  Grin.     Pun intended.

The kit was on the directline site for a while. It was $2995.00 if my memory serves me correctly. For that you got the modified swing arm, a custom billet wheel and the rear fender. This is a picture of the Valkyrie used by Hal and the boys in the finishing stage of development. I don't remember for sure if this was a 300 or a 280 kit. I'm leaning toward thinking it was a 280.

As with a lot of great ideas, there success hinges on the demand, and we all know what a bunch of tightwads we Valk riders are.  Grin

55/16 on my 2 Valkyries. You have to do a little work on the swing arm and the nut cage mod but we ride 2 up all the time with no problem.
