...post here the mileage of your over 100,000 mile Valkyrie.

Stude31  1999 Interstate 76,040
         1998 Tourer      36,574

Sorry Joe, but I don't think you're allowed to add them together to make the "over 100k" cut   Roll Eyes

And if you like numbers... how's this for interesting:

450k miles on a '98 is the equivalent of 30k p/year.. every year.
That's like circumnavigating the globe, plus a round-trip between L.A. and Jacksonville.. every year.
And if riding 8 hours every day were your full-time job (holidays and weekends off, of course), it would take over three and a half years to do this.
That sounds like the type of work sabbatical I could get into.

*Disclaimer:  I'm not a mathematician, but I could play one on TV, i.e., there's a 3.27% chance I don't understand numbers

Nice post...gives a man confidence Smiley

It is time that the VRCC designs a worldwide special club patch for high mileage achievement.
I have been flying fighters in the Airforce and we would get special patches for 1000+ hrs by the engine and aircraft manufacturer. I suggested this to Oz some time ago but I guess he's too busy.
Another idea might be to get in touch with Honda and have them come up with a special patch.
What do you guys think about this idea?
It's a bit tough for me since I am from the Netherlands, besides I think this has to be a worldwide club effort, not just a single Chapter across the pond.

So far 121,000, one bad wreck, everybody said "get rid of it", but I can't part with it. About 11,000 since the wreck, will think about "getting rid of it" at the 200,000 mile mark.  Or, I just might wait and see who goes first, me or the Valk......

Willow started this for the "over 100,000 mile Valkyrie" club.
When I get there (should be late this year), I'll happily add my name to the list.

We need a sticker or something to designate a 100,000 mile Valk. Maybe something that sticks on the speedometer that says "second time around" or something like that.  Grin
When you get a Valk back around to 30-40K the second time people just think it's still the first.  Shocked

BS.  Anyone can have a sloppy motorcycle and pile crap all over the back of it.  It doesn't mean he is a rider and it doesn't mean he isn't.  All you can tell from that picture is that at that point in time it was dirty and sloppy.

There are both riders and posers with dirty bikes.  There are both riders and posers with shiny bikes.  I've ridden with real riders who couldn't wait at the end of a days ride to get their Valkyrie cleaned and shined.  I've ridden with real riders who really weren't all that interested in cleaning the bike at the end of the day.

To each his own (but please don't brag to me about how your Valkyrie looks like it just came off an episode of the Beverly Hillbillies).   Smiley

Jeez Carl, who pooped in your Wheaties?

Ya'll bein hard on us......

I realize I can't do long distance on MGM, but damn it, I can still ride it around town, in a 50 mile circle from home, and then I have to get my Grandkids over to give him a bath.

If I get on my butt or my back on the ground, I'd dead till someone comes along to get me up.    If I'm in the garage, my back one, and I get down, I have a electric life cable mounted in the ceiling, and I have a remote control to run it up and down.        angel

I'm not being hard on you, R J.  I don't think I've ever seen your bike looking either filthy or sloppy.

Why would you take issue?  Anyone who knows me knows I don't keep my bikes in bike show condition, but I do try to stay within the boundaries of reasonable care and use.  I believe you do also.   Smiley

Never saw bike dirty, you never saw me in Montana, when I came off the road to Alaska.

It took me 4 days to get MGM clean.    YES, I do try to keep all my equipment clean, but times it is really hard.

... and what do people think is the max mileage on one before it needs a complete rebuild?

We don't know because we don't know of anyone who has reached that mileage.  Those Valkyries that have required a rebuild have done so because of something other than the accumulation of miles.
