If you haven't been paying attention to me, here's the two previous threads on my 99 I/S spring maintenance project. http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,55013.0.html and http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,55091.0.html.

Now my girl is up on the lift for an extended amount of time, so here's the next question.  Can anyone tell by these pictures if she's been deflowered, oops I mean desmogged?

If I have to pull the tank to find out, I might as well order an air filter.  Anything else I need to do under the tank if I'm going to pull it off?

I've already pulled the front wheel.  Brakes are good but going to replace the front tire - Metzler ME880 150/80 R17 M/C 72V from directlineparts.com - $146.

This round of maintenance is getting expensive!  It's eating up my gas money!!!  :'(

It look like it has, but, we could use better pics. At least I could. Can't tell how well its been desmogged though, more pics needed.

Why is there a vacuum line on #5 ? Cruise/speed control ?

Certainly has some of the smog hardware off,,,, good question about the vacuum line on #5 with the stock looking clip.

Looks like he still has stock petcock valve on, if so could still have stock petcock now pulling vacuum off 5 instead of 6.  Seems fuel drain tit line on carb six is missing so who ever addressed the smog may have pulled all of the lines and then realize they stilled needed vacuum to allow the petcock to function.

She does have cruise control.  I'm going to order an air filter and pull the tank for piece of mind.  I'll follow this up after I get the tank off.

Thanks.

If the cruise control is the Audiovox it works on vacuum, so desmog is the best way to free up the vacuum lines for the cruise. I'm doing the desmog in order to install the Audiovox this spring.

Here's a couple of more pictures.  I couldn't find the Pair Valve but I found this, a hose that wasn't connected to anything I could find without taking the air breather off.

And this one is where the Pair Valve should be, I think.

What is attached on this bracket is part of the cruise control.  Also, there were four of the six intakes had a what looked like vacuum lines that were plugged.

So this being said, I'm pretty sure she's been desmogged.  If ya can comfirm that, I'd appreciate it.

By looking at the pictures you have here of the heads there are no 3/8 chrome tubes and the top exhaust ports on the heads near #5 & #6 are plugged. So I would say yes. There is a tube connection located on the underside of the air box that needs capped or plugged.

The clear vinyl line in the first picture of the three needs to be attached to the air box if it's not. The line terminates under the bike and should have a black plastic plug with a clip. This is where dragon drool accumulates and needs to be emptied periodically.
