Hey fellow VRCC'ers,

First, my thanks to Daniel Meyer for letting me post this up here.  I have cleared it with him in advance.

My "other" riding club is the SCRC (Southern Cruisers) San Jacinto Chapter in North Harris County.  As an organization, the SCRC supports the St. Jude Children's Hospital, raising money and donating to this great cause annually.  We are looking for people to come out and enjoy the festivities, we are looking for donations that we can raffle off (see below) and some Dragon owners to come and win the trophies for the Bike Show (and we know our Dragons can win it all!)

Last year, our chapter stepped up our charity efforts with our Strikes and Bikes event.  This years event will be held on Saturday May 17th at Max Bowl (2390 Wilson Rd. Humble, TX 77396).

Quite a few events so pardon the length here.  We'd love to have my fellow VRCC'ers come out and join the fun.

1. Bowling Event
Cost is $20 per person or $100 per team of five.
Registration of teams starts at 10:00a.m.
Awards to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (highest scoring team, highest scoring male, highest scoring female)
Individuals will be paired up into a team on site.

2. Silent Auction
Donated items will be auctioned off during the event.  Last year we had everything from oil changes, to leather vests, to alcohol baskets to saddlebags.
*If you or your company would like to donate items for the raffle, please PM me here.  This is a charity event so it is tax deductible and we have the 501c form we will provide you.  Anything is welcome.

3. Raffle Items and Door Prizes
We will hold a 50/50 drawing that you can buy tickets for on the premises.  Door prizes will be drawn at random during the event.  This year we are also having a special raffle item (see below).

4. Because I know we have some gun lovers here, this years big raffle item is a Gen 3 Glock 19, 9mm pistol.  Along with the pistol is a free CHL class included.  The cost of the raffle ticket is $5.00 and ONLY 200 TICKETS WILL BE SOLD.  The Glock is being provided by Texasgunblog.com and the CHL class is donated by HoustonCHLClass.com.
*Legal notice: There will be a background check required and I'm assuming you have to be of legal age as well.  I believe these are being sold in advance, if interested PM me on the VRCC forum and I'll get you the e-mail address of the person coordinating the raffle sales for this item.

5. Last and Not Least: The Bike Show
Registration for the Bike Show starts at 9:30am and all bikes must be in place by 10:00am.  Entry fee is $20 per bike, enter as many as you'd like.
There are three categories: Sports Bikes, Cruisers and Custom Bikes.  Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers.

This is just a month away and we've been hard at work getting ready for it.  I hope to see many of you there if possible.  Again, if you would like to donate anything for our auction event let me know and we can get together and I can provide you the 501 form for taxes.  Nothing is too big or small.

This goes for a great cause, the kids.

Thanks again to Daniel for letting me post this up to my fellow Valk members.

Just bumping this up as the date is a week closer..lol.

Also, an update: the pistol raffle tickets are being sold in advance.  Again, if interested shoot me a PM and I'll get you in touch with our officer that is handling the sale of the raffle tickets.  Only 200 are being sold and she started selling them last week.

I'm all glocked up, but we may try to make it down there for the event.

Hope to see you and all your SCRC brothers at the Ride for Kids this Sunday. Here's the link on the forum.  http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,66706.0.html

We have a huge Southern Cruisers participation at the DFW event in the fall. The fit with St. Jude's is terrific. St Jude's is the largest recipient of family support materials generated by the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (the foundation funded by Ride for Kids) and of course, benefits from the research done by the PBTF and the St. Jude's docs use that to treat a lot of kids who come to the Ride for Kids events around the US.

Look forward to meeting you. Just look for the black standard with the open sidecar on it on Sunday.
