We've been at the Peach Tree for two years now, and most folks seem to like it.  Let me know if we need a change, or if we should continue with a good thing.  If you have no intention of going, please don't muddy the waters, but if you want to go and are only waiting for schedules to pan out before committing, then by all means, let's hear what you have to say.
If you choose "other location", please let us know what other location you have in mind.  If you just want a change from both Fredericksburg AND Kerrville while not having another suggestion, that's valid, just say so.

There is no official date, but October is a pretty good bet.  That's why I put in the disclaimer about wanting to go but are waiting for schedules to coalesce.

Last year we went during the Harvest Classic in Luckenbach.  This year it is being held October 18,19.

This is just a suggestion, but it was pretty cool seeing the old bikes in Luckenbach.

This is where a few of us will stay, it is across the grapevine creek from Luckenbach . My daughter & her husband just built & open these cabins, but there's only six of them. You can sit on the porch & listen to the music from Luckenbach. www.fredericksburg-lodging.com/Luckenbach-lodge2

Is it too soon to declare a winner?

October is a busy month with the DFW R4K on Sunday the 12th, the Harvest Classic on the 18th & 19th, and the Ride-In (schedule TBD).

I will be attending the Harvest Classic and sure hope there are a bunch of VRCCers there at the same time.

I know I've been a bit incommunicado, but we're moving forward on this.  We're targeting the weekend of the Harvest Classic, but as the hotel arrangements are still being nailed down, it's possible that we end up one week earlier or later.  Hayhauler is stepping up and working with the hotels for me, so a big thanks to him for getting things rolling.

To get the Peach Tree in October you gotta start in March. So that sounds like it's out this year. We had a good rally before in Leakey at D'Rose Inn (motorcycle only motel). Centered in the 3 sisters area. I'm sure others can throw out ideas.

You might look at the Pecan Ranch just outside Leakey. Depending on how many people go they are motorcycle friendly. I just looked at their reservation page and it showed all cabins and other rooms empty. I think it's comparitive cost wise.

Ok, here goes.  Sorry this is so long, but there is a lot of info here.
I have looked around Fredericksburg for another place to stay the weekend of Oct. 17-19 and cannot find any place that has enough rooms to hold all of us.  I even looked at having it a week earlier, but there were the same number of rooms at the Peach Tree and we would miss the Harvest Classic.  The YO in Kerrville is booked solid for the Oct. 17-19 weekend and other motels in Kerrville didn't have enough rooms for us.
I have blocked rooms at the Peach Tree for us for Oct. 17 and 18.  The rooms that are left are their most expensive rooms.  There are not enough rooms for everyone, so some of us will have to stay at another motel close by.  This way, we can still have our "tire kicking" sessions Friday and Saturday nights AND we can have the meeting room for the Saturday evening dinner.
I suggest that you guys/gals book with a friend and split the cost of the rooms.

The number to the Peach Treen Inn is 1-800-843-4666.  Tell them you are with the "TEXAS VRCC".  http://www.thepeachtreeinn.com/
Here is what they have.

Peach Tree
(1) Single Queen    $99
(1) Single King      $109
(1) Deluxe King      $119   King bed and sofa bed in same room
(9) King Suite      $139   King bed and sofa bed in another room

MOTELS IN THE AREA

Miller Inn and Suites   830-997-2244 (7) rooms  http://www.millerinntx.com/
Similar to Peach Tree as in there is some covered parking.
(2) Single Queen   $85
(3) Single King      1-$75, 2-$95
(1) Double Full      $109
(1) Double Queen   $119

Comfort Inn      830-990-2552   http://www.comfortinn.com/hotel-fredericksburg-texas-TX817?source=gglocaloz#rsm-rate-RACK

Double Queen      $109
Single King      $109
Triple Queen      $119

Quality Inn      830-997-2068   http://www.qualityinn.com/hotel-fredericksburg-texas-TX411?source=gglocaloz
Double Double      $129
Single King      $129

Best Western   --  NO ROOMS

I know that some of you can find rooms using Kayak, Price Line, Travelocity, HotWire, or some other service that grabs rooms and fills them at the last minute and this might be the best way.

I personally have booked a King Suite starting on Thursday night, because I want to ride from work on Thursday and relax on Friday.  Smiley

Leakey is looking better and better.

Thanks for all your hard work on this, Jimmy.

Just noticed the D'Rose Inn is now the Historic Leakey Inn - about $70-80 per night there.

Inn has no double rooms, all single beds.  $70-80.
Cabins with 2 beds are $99 and there are only 6 of them.

Thought of that too.  Smiley
