Dear friends

A couple weeks ago I bought a valkyrie interstate and posted a photo here and at the time it was diagnosed as an intake leak (already ordered redeye's o-rings, should receive them this Saturday).

I got another question though: in the other side of the engine, there is a leak that seems to come from a huge screw. Any idea if that is the origin of the leak and *how hard* would be to fix it?

a) The leak:

b) The screw:

Any help would be appreciated.

Best regards

From your photo, it looks like the same intake leak on both sides. Install the new O-rings, clean up the area and ride it, see if the brown stains reappear, doubt they will.

That's what I was thinking too. But it does seem awfully wet. When my intakes leaked it was pretty dried up. I'm not sure if that big Allen plug is to the water jacket or not. But after you change your o-rings if it still looks like that I would check that.

Speaking of it, where I could find instructions to replace the intake o-rings?

You can download the service manUal at the link shown below. Also, a forum search will yield a lot of "how to".

Dear friends

Thanks to help at the forum (specially in this post, in a comment by John Schmidth: http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,63277.0.html
) I was able to replace the intake o-rings.

Detailed photos of the whole procedure can be found here:

I hope this helps other forum members that will face an intake o-ring job.
:-)

Best regards
