Hello,

My ride has a drone, I have since found out that the exhaust has been drilled out, but not cut off.  I would like to have a factory sound.  Is there a way to remedy the drone with out buying new pipes.  Can new piggies be purchased and welded in place of old ones?

Thanks

Michael

The fella that had mine before me found the piggies cut off flush, and two of the three holes were drilled.  His solution to fix the drone was to take copper tubing and remake the piggies.  If memory serves correct, 3/4" fit pretty well...and a 1/2 tap worked inside the piggy holes.

Here is the thread that the prev. Owner talked about fixing the piggies.  I do still have them if interested. http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,35893.msg333839.html#msg333839

MarkT sells Piggie plates.  They are complete sets of piggies that he has cut off and salvaged.  Think he sells them for about 40 bucks or so a set.  You can get them either from a standard or an interstate.  You can have them tig welded on.

Or....get something to break up that resonance as it's exiting the exhaust......like a set of Grumpy tips.  The small bore tips would work best for what you need.....plus, they dress up the exhaust really nice.

There's also a marine silencer that you can buy and install.  Its 4 inch diameter, slides right in....just need to drill one bolt hole to hold it in place.

Twenty bucks for a set plus postage.  Look like this.

No.  Don't have anything at $40 currently.  But thanks for mentioning the piggy plates anyway.

Hope I am not stepping on the toes of one of our sponsors and VRCC member but Big Bike Things has
what they call exhaust extentions, piggies, no welding should you not have a welder.

BBT exhaust extensions are short little chrome tubes to put on the
end of your real piggies so that they stick out past the
end of your tips... they very much don't replace piggies...
