Tail Light Wiring
«
on:

I am putting a standard tail light on my Interstate. Problem is, I am not sure how to wire it into the system. I have read that there are 2 wiring harnesses that make it almost a plug and play. Is that so?
Can someone give me some guidance on this?
Thanks,
Jerry

You could get the harness but it's not necessary. 2 of the 3 wires are there already. Solid green is your ground. Your running light is Brown. Then all you need to do is run 1 wire (put a disconnect on it at the rear fender disconnect location) to the brake light under the right cover which will be Green with Red stripe (I think that changes to Green with Yellow stripe somewhere, just follow the wire).

Thanks Gordon and Blaze. Blaze, that is exactly what I needed to know. I just could not get my head wrapped around it. Thanks again.

I just spliced into the IS harness with one and also added a spoiler with led light and spliced that into the trunk lights very simple to do
