I think it is.  I bought mine on EBay for under $70.  It lights up the road like you wouldn't believe plus makes you much more visible to oncoming traffic. On EBay check out item number 361258169817.  Price has come down since I bought mine, but this is what I put in my standard.  The ballast fits inside the headlight shell.

Yes its worth it to me, mine cost the same as my previous Sylvania Silverstar, which did not last one year. Crazy bright clean white light.

Hey BikerBoy, tell me more.  I pulled up the item number on eBay and there seems to be hundreds of vehicles/choices.  Any additional information you can provide would be helpful . . . e.g., how did you install, potential "gotchas", wiring, plug or relay compatibility, etc.
