You have a terrific place to ride  cooldude

I was in West Virginia this weekend (in the Mini). We took a side
trip on the way back - left I77 near the Big Walker tunnel, and
came out on 81 near Abingdon... this allowed us to ride through
Burke's Garden (google it  cooldude ) which Carolyn had
never seen... lots of stuff like this out through there...

I think the colors will be good on the Fall Color Ride this year...

Besides getting a viking hard trunk, and also putting red vynal on its top,and spelling out valkyrie in gold letters across the back of the trunk, and reflective tape on both sides.   I made my own brackets to mount it behind me on top of where the passenger seat is...Acouple more days of 70 degree days on Tues.and Wed. next week then the season may be over,so I can get to the task of taking off the side pods to get to the mesh infront of the air filter to paint them red to contiue the red accents I will continue to add to the bike... there are pictures of my bike that gabby took at the dragon ride in Sept. down at Madison Ind.    That was a great time and ride,,, hope to make the next one ,next year.... to those lucky enough to live where the riding season is 12 months long I envy you. for the rest of us we live for the weather to get up to 55 to 60 or more so we can ride again... RIDE ON LIFE IS GOOD........................................................

Nice ... What do the beamer riders think of your Valkyrie... Some I have talked to, that liked it and said great bike for the price, compared to what they paid for theirs, I said of the 7 bikes I have owned One older 750 BMW 1972,( that sold me on shaft drive) and a 1998 1500 Val, that I road for 1 1/2 years, before they brought the Valkyrie back, and had to have that 1832 motor without all the extras that came on the GOLD WING or the F6B, so I could eccessorise the bike the way I wanted it. So LIFE IS GOOD RIDE ON

What do the beamer riders think of your Valkyrie?

They were shocked I bought a cruiser style motorcycle.
I have been riding nothing but sport bikes and sport-touring type motorcycles for the past 49yrs..
(I was kinda shocked myself.  Shocked)
I needed a change and I was pretty sure this bike would be more than just a cruiser type bike.
I was right.

 It does it ALL!

YES!!!!!! I think its a combo cruiser, semi-sport,also. With that motor left plan(if its your second bike)it is a screamer, or for me add the things I wanted for all around riding and the trunk for those longer out of state trips, but IF YOU want to go FAST, its all there, just grab some throttle and hang on.........WOW......

Went for a 200mi. ride yesterday, doesn't happen very often around here on December 15th..
Temps were not bad, low - mid 40's..

Thought I'd share the few pics I took.
Had to slow the pace down a bit, roads were cold & damp.

Looks like it's going to snow.

I get a lot of, "that's a great looking bike"...

Anyone else still riding? Pictures?

I'm still riding about once a week when the weather is dry and the temps are in the mid-40s or higher...  What is that on your seat?

Hey Robert , if your bike tips over , do the tip over bars stop the hard bags from hitting the ground ?

Yup no problem, the bars support the bike and the bags never hit the ground. Kind of an embarrassing moment on the side of the road is how I found out. That question was in my mind too untill that O SH moment.  Grin

Great pictures Robert, thanks for sharing.
The seat & bags look fantastic. I'll bet you get a lot of, "great looking motorcycle"...

After the holidays I'll be making the 1200mi. trip south to Port Charlotte.
It'll be great to ride in warm weather again. Smiley

Thanks and the bike does turn heads  cooldude Sometimes its really funny you see people almost do a double take when they look at it.

Before you come down look on the Florida board because the guys on the west coast are really active as far as rides and places to eat and see. I'm sure if you wanted to you could hook up with them. Get a hold of Jerry & Sherry really good people and hes around Zephyr Hills and knows some really beautiful roads. Keep us posted on the trip and if you get to the east coast give me a heads up. As for weather it has been pretty hot in fact I think a couple of days we broke a record so heat shouldn't be a problem. Heck its been awhile since I took Alligator
Alley and maybe I could get to the west coast and hookup for a small ride and some lunch.

Nice!

Temperatures got up into the 60s here too yesterday so I did a Denver to Colorado Springs loop. Sun makes a big difference. Last few miles were at night. I could have used warmer gloves. Next time I'll be more prepared.

St2sam are you using a different windscreen now? Why the switch?

Yep, a slightly smaller screen for a few reasons.

Just about the same coverage, much smoother air flow.

IMO it just looks better, doesn't detract from the bikes lines.

If I wanted more (or a lot) of wind protection I would have bought a Wing...

Just another couple of pics of Lake Okeechobee on a beautiful day. Its so quiet here that you can forget all the hassles and noises of the world and just listen to the waves hit the rocks. The level is almost to the max since we have had some heavy rains. I just love to hear this bike idle you start it and it come to life with a slight rumble and a bit of a whine and just sits there smooth as silk.

I am glad you guys can get out and ride.  We got 20" of snow last Tuesday  Cry and it has gotten a little warmer for a few days, but today it was -15C in the morning, and it only got up to -10C.  No riding for me in the near future.   Angry

I am really chomping at the bit to try my new Russell seat and Rostra cruise control.

Taken immediately after finishing the bike's first post-reassembly ride.

My wife has now dubbed the bike "Gypsy Bride". Because it is big, curvy, likes sparkly things, and I qoute, "A bit gaudy, but in a good way." FML

Funny enough, already had a truck stomp  the gas to catch up to me last night. He then started honking and giving thumbs up with his interior lights on and would not stop until I wavedette back at him.... both of us doing 70 mph. I wasn't impressed.

I have the "red" maroon 2014 Valkyrie.... Love the color..... have added several "red" accents to the bike, my winter project was to take the side pods off and paint the plastic guard in front of the radiators red, now its getting close to riding time,,,, after this weekend, hope its the last we see of snow and less than 40 degree temps!!!!!!!!! next week its supposed to be back up around 50.. thats riding weather for me, at least to and from work at least. Planning a late May trip down south west into  Mis. should be in the mid to upper 70s there by then...

Having great weather in NEPA., got out Sunday for about a 250mi. ride.

Stopped for a quick picture, at a tad over 2,000ft. elevation, up there for Pennsylvania..

I raced my buddy on his new BMW 1600 GTL.

@st2sam : Indeed the K16 is tremendously faster. The sound when you ride on the last third of the rev is gorgeous, your full name is Valentino Rossi  uglystupid2

Of course, your buddy knows  that without crash bars ($200), the lowest part of the engine takes the shock when the bike falls (even at the red light) and this part is not OEM available, so you have the change the whole (more than the actual price of the F6c  Embarrassed).
