CORBIN BAGS W/HARD LUGGAGE BOX

I just finished installing my Corbin hard bags. They look wonderful!
They are medium to small inside which will limit what I load on my trips.
So, my thought was to install a luggage rack and use one of two hard bags I have from my '98 Valkyrie (Givi) or a smaller bag I have for my Kawasaki Concour 14.
I haven't received the Honda rack yet but it looks like neither bag will fit and have the room to open the Corbins. It looks like the Corbin lids will bang into the top box.
I need more storage for cross country rides and I don't see a way to load more items without using soft luggage.
Anyone have the same problem that has solved this problem?
This is the only problem I've run across with the new Valkyrie and it's a huge problem.

I made a couple of brackets to hold the OEM rack higher... I did it
so that the lid on the Givi would open, I hadn't thought the bag
lids would hit the Givi...
I had this on for a few weeks or a month before the saddlebags showed
up... ugly as it is, it was great to be able to carry stuff...

Wait till you get the rack installed before panic attack, if the lids still don,t open, try a 1or2" spacer under the mount plate, if that don,t work, proceed to panic attack.

You're right I should wait before panicking.
There's always a way to make it work.

I've gotten some good advice.
I have two travel boxes now and two different mounting brackets. I just need to see how the new luggage rack will be once it arrives. Both boxes have a backrest built in, so if I can move the box forward it would solve the backrest issue, but the width is always the issue. The hard bags only give me around 18" when they open.
I certainly don't want to make it look stupid......................Right now the bags are beautiful.
I should have it by Thursday.

I was going to order the Corbin bags when I initialy purchased my bike. They are beautiful. The dealer had a bike with the Corbin bags and I was a little disapointed when I looked inside. Decided to go with Honda bags to gain more space. But darn I wanted Corbin because of their look. With the Honda bags, I can carry a jacket, a rain suit, cleaning suplies and tools, patch repair, Corbin passenger back rest, etc. Function over beauty won this time and nobody has said the bags don't look good. I did decide to buy a black bike instead of blue knowing the Honda bags would look better with black.
