I need some input about where to go from here.  My 2003 carbs started leaking, then I assumed hydrolocked.  Just went to start it and it acted like a low battery, turned over a couple times, stopped and the starter just started spinning.  My nephew said he had a friend that could fix it.  The guy came over and took the tank and carbs home to clean them - that was about a year ago. ( A lot happened in this time to get me off track.  My illness and the death of a close family member)   He wouldn't answer calls or voicemail and finally had to threaten law enforcement.  It worked.  A couple days ago he dropped off the tank and 3 partial carbs at a family member's house and left. He will not respond to questions of where the heck are the rest of them.  I have recently bought another set of carbs from a running bike that was being scrapped, so I now have everything I need to start repairs. So, where do I start?? Who can walk me through the repairs.  I can do most anything mechanically, but need guidance with starter gears, vacuum lines, and syncing the carbs.

To keep things short and sweet, I would remove the starter, and look inside for broken gears.

I don't know if you did have a hydro lock or even damage to your bike. I feel most troubles can be fixed with a liquid carb cleaner, and the PROPER method of using it, will get most bikes moving again.

You are looking for something like this.

Dude,....your motor got hydrolocked. Putting additives in your fuel now will not fix the problem.

Get a workshop manual (online from Dags valkyrienorway site) and do a search (on this site), roll up your sleeves and prepare to tear down and inspect.

Good luck

Well, with the starter motor spinning, I'd certainly suspect a hydrolock event, and

an inspection is certainly indicated to determine if any internal parts are broken.

More than !ikley engine removal and partial tear down for starter issue pull plugs and see if starter will spin engine over tape up any wires before powering up.
