ive read several posts about a 5 amp accessory circuit under the right side cover. I am adding an outlet to plug in a phone charger. I decided this would be perfect for that. I found the wires one male and one female bullet. I would assume that the male is ground and female is power. I checked polarity to be sure. I only have 5 volts and a good connection. is that what its is supposed to be. I know a lot of automotive sensors have a 5v reference signal to the computer.  is this what I found? has everyone mistakenly stated its a 5amp circuit meaning a 5volt circuit. this is on a 2000 interstate so could be wires for cb or radio

Here's an old post with some pictures...

http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,33087.0.html

You can probably charge a phone without a relay... a lot of us use
the acc wire only to trigger one-or-more relays for our one-or-more
accessories...

But it is there... look for that boot... we don't have new bikes,
who knows what some previous owner did? Maybe the boot is
gone, and there's just the wires...

The one on my standard was pretty easy to locate. The one on my I/S was near impossible. Mine was tucked up behind the center cover. Also make sure the PO hasn't already got it connected to something. Do you have a Dan Marc or air horn or extra lights that he might have used the Acc. Wire to trigger ? If not its going to be inside a little rubber boot. Look for that . It took me all day to locate mine, persistence will pay off.  cooldude
