Hi all with this light package and those looking to buy it. I contacted Honda USA in Torrance, Ca. today concerning the voltage issue on the turn signals. After explaining that I was unable to get a proper voltage read at the turn signals and explaining the inability to make the aftermarket turn signals work, the Tech told me he had no answers or recommendations for the issue and the voltage on the pin is 12V regardless of the meter reading. Supposedly, the reason for the variations on the meter readings is the high rate of cycling of the Flashers for the signals.
I have also contacted several companies for switching and relays, including solid state relays. I have managed to strike out on every corner as they all told me they have never heard of an issue where the voltage coming to the signals would not trip at least a Micro Relay. (smallest triggering voltage-9v)
for the time being I will relinquish this quest to another member to explore.

Moofner got the signal lights to work on his Givi case, so the same procedure should work for the SoCal lights.

Ug, now I wish I'd found these lights first. I did a bit of research after our phone call Stanc and I'm pretty sure I could get them to work on the Valkyrie. I might be able to confirm it without the lights through voltage measurements. I could see many forum members sticking to the SoCal lights if the signals worked.

The blinkers although nice are not the deal breaker. I would like to have them but the lights are really great. Bright, good switch and look good also in the day or night. The DRL's are bright enough to add some visibility in the day and at night the spots work well.

I was kind of wondering with the description of the voltages at the lights if they use frequency of pulses to control brightness. Most led flash lights do the same thing rather than using a resistor to vary voltage or brightness they pulse the circuit and that controls the brightness of the light. More and longer pulses the light is brighter, less pulses or shorter the light dims. Fuel injectors, frequency valves, all work the same way.

The front lights could work off a pulse system since the fronts run as running lights and the rears do not. I have access to some very responsive multi-meters to test this idea but I'm pretty sure the answer to adding more lights comes from accessing the rear, post ECU, wiring harness.

What SOCALMOTOGEAR LED Lights work for the Valk? The same ones listed for the F6C?

If everyone that has the SOCAL lights, and those interested in them will watch this post, I may have an answer this week. I have some parts Due in this week that may help solve this issue.
I agree with an earlier post, the lights are worth having above anything else I personally have seen, even if the Amber lights never operate.
I am trying a variation of the same process Moofner has done with his GIVI box, just without the box.

Stanc, let me know if you need me to break into my GIVI box wires when your harness comes in. I can trace the colors for left and right if you need it.

Harness came in, took the time to double check everything  I installed, checked all connections and still no Amber lights. I am just going to put it down for the rest of the year and make a decision if I want the amber lights enough to redo that part of the circuitry. It's more work than I want to do but I paid for the Amber lights and dammit I want them.

It really aggravates me Honda would make this so irritatingly difficult to do. I even ran a 12v wire to the turn signal light on the front to see if it would handle the voltage, worked fine. Really aggravating!

I'll get into my wiring harness with my aircraft grade multi-meter next week. This is starting to become enough of a challenge that I want to try solving it on principle alone.

Im kinda like you about the challenge, maybe its time to get into them.

Well, I have been checking this forum and others to see if anyone has found a workable fix for using the Amber turn signals in SoCal LED lights on our new Valk F6C.  Seems that several have some good ideas, just wondering if anyone has solved this annoying problem.  Thanks  Smiley

Being that they are LEDs be sure to check
polarity. That might be the problem, also wire connection.
