I've been gone for quite a while. I got bored with tire threads I guess. Does anyone do performance mods on Valks anymore? I still have a TON of parts, cams, pistons, Carrillo rods, sets of ported heads, heads with larger valves, NIB Viking pipes, Gen 1 fuel injected Supercharger, the list goes on and on.
Does anyone do anything cool with these bikes anymore? I miss the old days.

Are there any updates on that bike? I wonder how long his pistons held out. Jim L had a turbo valk. I helped tune the EFI on it. It was FAST, and it was HOT. He popped pistons in short order.

Attic Rat soups-up/spiffs-up Valkyries still, and there's another guy, a turbocharger guy, who has at least one turbo charged Valkyrie...

Hey Jeff... It was a lot of fun reading about the stuff folks were doing way back when. 10 folks in chat was nothing. I would dig a supercharger on my bobber project. And I remember when Viking pipes were the hot set up. I had a set. I know there are a lot of new guys, hence the "best tire" and "best oil" threads...but it is kind of exciting for the new owners. Nice to see you post! Tony

I don't know what they used but I think I have some on a set of heads. Mike Brown had better springs but I haven't heard from him in a long LONG time.

Mike Brown had better springs but I haven't heard from him in a long LONG time. the head work I have had done will allow 1k more rpms. It has been suggested a little stronger spring should be used to take advantage of. OEM is only 70lbs, probably need 90-100lb spring. I tried to contact Andy, but I guess email is inactive.

I'd be surprised if the valve springs even necessary. Unless you are supercharged or have aftermarket cams. I have attic rat's performance work done on my valk-some headwork, carbs etc. It will pull pretty hard right up to 7+ rpm. I have the limiter on my dyna ignition set at 7500, while the power is starting to drop off there is definitely no issues with valve float or anything.
