Now available for Standard, and Tourer models with a factory 7" headlight is an Adapter Bracket for installing a 7" LED DayMaker HeadLight. The bracket is $65.00+shipping.

Please email me ValkyrieJosh@gmail.com with your first, last name, and shipping address. I will reply to you with your total cost of the bracket plus shipping, and the link to make payment via PayPal.

You will then need to buy the DayMaker LED. Any 7" HD DayMaker fixture will work. If you are worried about fit make sure the metal housing of the LED fixture is 7" diameter and no more than 2.75" in depth. (FYI - The bracket will not work with headlights made for Jeep.)

The DayMaker LED Headlights are 'Plug-N-Play' using your existing H-4 headlight connector, meaning no wiring is required. The DayMaker LED's typically use less power while putting out more lumens.

Lastly, once you have both the DayMaker fixture and the adapter bracket in hand go to https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=K48cp45_h6Q for an instructional video on how to install the adapter bracket and the DayMaker headlight.

Please feel free to email ValkyrieJosh@gmail.com with any other questions or concerns.

Does this fit ANY 7" headlight on the Scootlights site, or a specific model?

I haven't read anything saying they specifically are or are not, but since most are knock-offs of the original DayMaker HD is putting on factory bikes, my assumption is that they are. That however would be a good question for the guys that are selling the headlights.

I'm considering this. Just wanted to say impressive job of engineering the prototypes and working with the manufactures to bring to fruition.  Quite a nice video as well. Thanks.  I know you say any of the 7 inch lights will work. Scootlights list this one (Harley model)on sale for $99.  http://www.scootlights.com/products/copy-of-7-daymaker-replacement-chrome-blue-halo-angel-eye-hid-led-light-1  Any reason it would not work or be less effective than the model shown in the video?  I find the Scootlights site some what unclear about the difference it their lights so if you have a particular model you're comfortable with can you reference it?

Thank you Mike. It has taken quite a bit of effort to get the bracket manufactured. I simply had an idea, made it work, and want to share it with the VRCC community.

Scootlights has confirmed that the flange thickness is the same between the Blue Halo Ring (the one shown in the video), and the White Halo Ring (shown in the link above). The bracket works with both.

Is there no concern about a blue (halo) forward light being objectionable to the constabulary?

I suppose the projected light is mostly white, but blue lights can be trouble.

I think blue is frowned upon in many states including Colorado.  LEDs are getting so common I wonder how many cops would pursue it.  Still, a white halo is probably the safest bet.

Each state has it's own laws regarding LED's. I can personally say my research in Colorado is that I am legal, and I have been riding around Colorado now for months with my Blue Halo's lit up and have had no issues whatsoever.

If concerned please understand that the Halo light is wired in separately from the main LED. I wired the Halo's through an accessory switch on my handlebar and so can be turned on/off at will. Furthermore the Halo Rings are simply an option on some of the DayMakers available, meaning you don't have to buy the Halo if you have concern.

Additional Information Regarding DayMaker LEDs

Pros:  cooldude
 - Draws less power (see specs below).
 - Puts out more lumens on high & low beam (see specs below).
 - More Safe! Day time visibility greatly increased (The LED's really stand out in the day).
 - Plug-N-Play using  your existing H-4 connector. No additional wiring is required.
 - Installation takes less than 30 minutes.
 - The Adapter Bracket allows the headlight to be adjusted as normal.
 - Long life. The DayMaker should last the life of your bike.*
+ Average life of a DayMaker is 50,000 hours
+ The life of a Halogen bulb is 450-1,000 hours.
+ That is equivalent to purchasing 50 Halogen bulbs.
+ No longer do you have to ride with a spare bulb.
 - There will be more room in the headlight bucket.
+ It's not a ton more space but with how filled the bucket is with stock and aftermarket wiring this could be a big benefit.

Cons:   Sad
 - Initial cost to invest in the Bracket & DayMaker.

Specs:
Halogen vs. DayMaker stats

Halogen
-Low Beam
 + 55 watts
 + 1100 Lumens
-High Bean
 + 60 watts
 + 1500 Lumens
- Lifespan 450-1,000 hours

DayMaker
-Low Beam
 + 45 watts
 + 2400 Lumens
-High Beam
 + 45 watts
 + 3600 Lumens
-Lifespan 50,000 hours (or the life of your bike)
*Legal Clarification - DDT is specifically exempt from the above statement.

Bracket came in 48 hrs, watched video (great job BTW), and had it installed in 30 min as promised. I used Mictuning 7" from Amazon and it worked fine.  Good job Josh, thanks for making the upgrade possible.

I can see, I can see, I can see!! Finally I can see at night, the Daymaker is great. Smiley Smiley cooldude

Yesterday I installed the bracket and headlight but it was raining so I could not adjust the light until tonight. I got it in range and went out for a ride on some dark roads, came home tuned it a little and went back out then came home again and fine tuned it once more and went out again and it was great. I felt like I could ride all night.

The bracket went on pretty easy and it went into the bike no problem and no issues adjusting the lamp at all.

All I need to do now is figure out how to power up the Halo option and I'll be set.

if anyone can PM me on which wire in the lamp bucket is hot with the key on and I can tap into it, to a power a pigtail (for the Halo) that came with the Daymaker I would really appreciate it.

Thanks Josh

Running the Halo with a wire from the headlight bucket is not going to supply the volts necessary to light it up to it's full potential. I am running a switched wire from my accessory terminal to power up the Halo (around 14V) and that sucker is bright. My daymaker is also powered by a direct connection from the accessory terminal since I have relays connected to my headlight switch.

That's was a convincing photo of the DayMaker in action, BPP.  Those are mighty bright blinker bulbs too.  What are they?

I'm waiting to get into this after my vaction, but now the Scootlight white halo is sold out. Just wondering, are the Scootlights made in the USA or are they manufactured in China? Because if so, I can get them through Ebay for even less.

I see offerings of a pair of 7" for Jeeps, will they work?

Ok, I don't have time to get into this before september 15th. Hopefully scootlights will have the white halo then. I'm a bit concerned about the other white led because that one is 75 watts, that's more than original and I don't know if that will effect the wiring (getting hot). Any color in a halo is a no-no here in Holland, the police will pull you over quite quickly.

If you are worried about the wire sizing, get Bon's simple switch. Takes the current off the existing wires and switches and you get a brighter light as well since there is little voltage drop.  It's cheap and effective.

If we're splitting hairs, it's a Standard with Champion hard bags and a Hondaline windshield, which make it look very much like a Tourer.  Very well put together.

If we're splitting hairs, it's a Standard with Champion hard bags and a Hondaline windshield, which make it look very much like a Tourer.  Very well put together.
Thanks guys, true, it's a Standard with Champion bags and (drumroll) an Interstate tank! Although subtle, the lines of a Valk are just a bit better with an Interstate tank, better proportioned. At least, I think so.
I will seriously look into your headlight bracket. I mailed the link of this thread to my mecanic and asked him what his thoughts are about this upgrade. But as of monday I'm on a vacation trip and will not be able to receive any packages. That's why I have to wait untill the 15th of September, but I'll definitely get back for this bracket.

I just ordered two brackets!  laugh laugh
My mecanic wanted one too and he will receive them!

Because the white halo LED headlight of Scootlights is sold out, I bought two similar LED's on Ebay. They are coming from China, they are cheaper and no cost of shipping. It's a bit of an adventure, but I figured that the LED's in the 100 dollar price range in the USA are probably imported from China too. I'll let you guys know how this worked out.

Ordered my bracket Friday morning, had it Saturday afternoon! : cooldude

When I saw Scootlights listed the white halo as being sold out, I sent an email asking when they would have more.  The answer I got next day said they would have them next week.

The question I have is this:  Scootlights has another headlight even brighter than the DayMaker.  Will that light fit the bracket and the headlight bucket as well?

I wouldn't mind a headlight that on high beam, can scorch paint at 100 yards...

Be cool and ride safe!!!

I'm gald the bracket made its way to you so quickly. As for the 75W headlight, if it fits a harley my bracket will work with it.

According to Rattlebars the stock wiring can handle up to 100w, so the 75w DayMaker fixture should be fine.

Fast Eddie, if your worried about the power to the headlight, install a Smart Switch from DigiSync.  You can DIY one http://www.horseapple.com/Valkyrie/Tech_Tips/Headlight_Upgrade/headlight_upgrade.html but the Smart Switch is plug and play. Either way, it uses heavy wire to the bulbs and the old wiring through the switches just become power to the new relays in the headlight bucket.  Headlights will be brighter and switches longer lived. I have no connection to the seller, just a very satisfied customer.

Thanks for the mention CI_borg. I'm glad you're pleased. You posted while I was typing.

Chet at Rattlebars made his observations and comments when our bikes were much younger and the long term handlebar switch problems were not prevalent. Many Valkyrie riders have had handlebar switch issues even when only using stock headlight wattage. I know because I have had many a discussion or email exchange with them. Often they're replacing a handlebar switch for around $100 and adding relays to avoid the problem in the future.

Perhaps switch disassembly, cleaning, and lubrication will prevent this but it's often ignored or simply invisible until the bike won't start or the headlight switch is intermittent or won't turn on.
