OK so I know some of you guys have chrome side covers. Some like Adrian may have almost persuaded me to get them, but I would like a couple of good side pics of bikes with them to make a final decision. I know not many have them but I do know a couple of blues and reds I have seen have them. So how about showing off some of that chrome additions to help me make a decision.

I want to see more photos too.
It looks great on the red.
I'm not confused I want to buy them immediately but the dealer has never impoted any valkyrie accesories so if i order now they tell mo to wait 2 months to receive Smiley In two months winter will already coming and there will be no need to modify the bike.
I think in winter I will make the budget and order all the items i want and when they arrived I will mount them on and will be ready for the spring of 2017  cooldude

I had been thinking of rattlecan silver with clear coat. They would match the polished aluminum valve cover better than chrome, whataya got to lose. If they come out bad spray them flat black or hurry down to the Honda dealer and buy the chrome ones, at least that will make your mind up for you.

Hey Dude...you know I am surprised you haven't got them yet!  To me it makes perfect sense with the red color because of all the other chrome on the bike...perfect match man.  But I understand you might want to be different...in that case I can only highly recommend having the side covers painted the same color as the bike...

Either way each choice is WAY, way, way better then them stock ugly ones. uglystupid2

Well went and did it today ordered the chrome side covers, so by next week we will see how it looks on the red.

Adrian chrome is good but to much is like 24's on a Chevy Malibu, a bit over the top. Too much chrome can actually take away from the lines of the bike. I can usually picture changes and how they will look but for some reason I cant on these side covers.

You could of covered  1 side cover with aluminum  foil   , put it back on the bike  to see if you'd like it

I am quite sure you will like it...  I like them on my bike...and I have less chrome accents for them to match... It should be just about right with your bike.

Now that was a bit of genius I think I will try that just for interest, thanks  cooldude cooldude

So, you have any ideas on how to take the tin foil out of the house without the wife suspecting you are getting something for your bike.  Grin  Wink

I have visited a few places that they had one but for the most part they were being phased out in NY. Anyone remember the party lines, Up in Mass they still had them for a bit.

I remember our original phone number, I think it was around 1956 before we had or own phone, the number was CHarter 7 1070. My mother died in 95 with the same phone that was installed in 56.
I did buy her a cordless phone sometime in the late 80's.

In truth I ordered them last Wednesday and I knew I could not get to the dealer until the weekend. Its pretty far away so while being impatient it really is ok since I knew they would not come by last Friday.

Hey the tin foil looked pretty good maybe Ill leave it on there and not get the covers.  Wink  Grin

The chrome looks nice, but I think it would have looked better if you painted the side covers red to match the bike.  I am really considering this with my bike.  My wife likes the flat black since it matches with the frame and other parts around it.

Slow day at work so I went to get my side covers, Im glad I got them, I do really like them. I posted a comparison pics. I have to admit Adrian you were right.

Ok so I decided since there was no comparison shots to take some shots so you could see the progression. I did the first without chrome, The second with the chrome valve covers the third with  swing arm covers added and the fourth with the chrome side panels also.

Thought bout it but decided against it since one reason I like the bike is the easy care of not to much chrome. My 1500 was a bit of a pain since it had the polished wheels and I wanted to keep them looking good. This bike is so easy to keep clean since you wash and go and I dont even worry about riding in rain since its so easy to keep clean. In fact the wind and rain pretty much blows any dirt off the bike.

Besides black is the new chrome and I love annoying my son. He said to me when I got this bike what are you doing riding a bike with black wheels?  Grin whippersnapper.  2funny

I thought the young fellers was into the murdered look. I think that term came about a few years back but doesn't seem to be used anymore. Maybe its not PC, murdered? I can't get into blacked out. Polished aluminum looks best to me, better than chrome. Nickel is way cool.

Actually it is real chrome metal on high tech plastic, I agree with Adrian, plastic is TODAY! Light and durable, doesn't dent, needs big wack to make it crack, I'm a poet and don't know it coolsmiley
