I know this has been addressed before, but my search ability must suck. I had BigBF replace all my vacuum lines awhile back, but since then, my mileage has dropped about 5-7 mpg and I smell raw gas. I cannot find liquid gas anywhere, and it runs fantastic. Can anyone point me to a starting place?

Start with checking the gas cap seal and the keyhole.
Then the air vent hose.
And the weep hole on the fuel petcock.
Overflow hoses on the carbs.

All vacuum line connections and plugs.
Intake o rings.

Fuel hose and carb connectors.

Make sure your enricher linkage is working properly. If you're "enriching" it will run like a scalded dog, but guzzle the fuel.

Sorry, I forgot to say it's a manual Pingel with Interstate tank. I have 148,000 on it.

You could have a hole in the vent tube inside the tank. It would drain thru the vent as your riding and flow out and under. Or the sending unit could have a bad gasket too. My bike had a leaky gas cap seal.

If you find that your ga cap is leaking, here is a quick and inexpensive fix.  I have used this for the past few years, it works.  http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,57951.0.html
