Also:
Please give us a head count if you're intending to be there.  This will help in telling the restaurant how many to expect.

I'll be riding in from West Fort Worth. Just me as far as I know. Anyone else from the Fort Worth area thats wants to ride with me, give me a shout and we can hook up for the ride out of town.        cooldude

DFW Group Route Info:

If we keep our 8:00 KSU, we are going to be on a very tight schedule to get from Al's to Nacogdoches by 12:30.  The two-part route ranges from 195 miles in 3:55 to 216 miles in 4:22, NOT including meetups or pit-stops.  So, I need to know 1) where 5_19 & Six Guns want to meetup - Kaufman or Edom, and 2) if anyone else plans to meet us at either place.  Please note: A Kaufman meetup will be more like a drive-by.  The mid-way pit stop will be in Edom.

Part 1, from Al's to Edom:
DFG's Fastest/Least Scenic/Minimal Interstate Highway Option: 84 miles in 1:40 (possible meetup in E Kaufman @ 243 & 34)
RM's Longest/Most Scenic Option: 104 miles in 2:08 (not really possible unless we leave early and have no meetup in Kaufman)
Hybrid: 96 miles in 2:00 (possible meetup in E Kaufman @ 243 & 34)

Pit Stop & Meetup w/John from Tyler and Gary from N Little Rock.  ETA 9:45 - 10:00

Part 2, from Edom to Nacogdoches: 112 miles in 2:15
KSU 10:15
314 South out of Edom through Moore Station
merge with 315 South through Fincastle, Poynor, Brushy Creek, Elmwood
merge with 155 South to skirt NE Palestine on Loop 256
84 east for a few hundred feet to 323 South
323 South to 294 East
294 East to Alto where we pick up 21 East
21 East into Nacogdoches

cooldude  Big Thanks to John for providing the route from Edom to Nacogdoches.  cooldude  The weather should be great.  We should have great ride.  cooldude

It would be a big help for KSUs, Meetups, and Seating at the restaurant if we can get a DFW headcount started.

Who's meeting at Als?  Does anyone want us to look for them in Kaufman?  Who's meeting us in Edom?

BTW, Janet & I will be in a cage and have a backseat available to anyone who wants to go but doesn't want to or can't ride.

Looks like 28 minutes difference and really no difference between the long/scenic route and hybrid (only 8 minutes).  If you go east at 243 and 429 intersection directly to 19, then down to 858, you cut out about 20 minutes from the scenic route.  Is that the Fastest way?  Still somewhat scenic.

And instead of meeting in Kaufman, meetup could be in Ola.

Just some thoughts..   John's route looks great, though.

With Six Guns coming to Al's and 5_19 coming to Edom, we don't have to go to Kaufman.  However, if we KSU @ 8:00, take the longest/most scenic option through Terrell and down, and the 2:08 is correct, we have 7 minutes to find John, 5_19, & Gary, park, take turns at the bathrooms and gas pumps, an get back on the road for Nac.  Pretty tight.

"My" fastest/least scenic is 635 to 80 to Forney to Talty to Kaufman where we pick up 243 to 64 to 279 to Edom.  84 miles of lots of straights.  I don't believe we need to save this much time and miss out on some scenery.

The Hybrid takes the fastest/least scenic route to Kaufman, skipping Terrell & 429 to 243 to 2515, and takes 1836 out of Kaufman to begin your really scenic route to Edom.

If we get an accurate headcount, and if everyone expected at Al's is there early with a full tank, we could leave early.

We'll do whatever you biker types want to do.  I don't count.  I'll be in a cage.    Sad   But at least I'll be there!

Just got thru looking at the various options for routes. Rather than meeting up in Edom it's better for me to meet up in Brownsboro where FM 314 crosses Hyw 31. My route takes me east on Hyw22 and in Corsicana I pick up Hyw 31 till Brownsboro. Its 184 miles or about 3 hrs from home. Edom is 6 miles N of Brownsboro on FM314 with no gas station.
Dave are you a B.A.D. cager or Good cager? What do y'all think, o wait Janet is probaly driving Grin, but that would make him GOOD. I just send you an e-mail with my cellphone # give me a call when you go thru Edom and I will be gassed up and ready to go when y'all come thru Brownsboro. If I can have your # I can give you a call when I get gas the first time and find out where y'all(same Texas talk as Six Guns) are.~TJ  Grin

Our pit stop in Edom will be at the Exxon on the north side of 279 just east of the light.  It has a c-store w/facilities.

TJ, if you're not at the Exxon, we'll look for you as we come through the intersection of 314 & 31.

Gary, are you out there?  Exxon in Edom?  314 & 31?

Motorose and Thalas'shaya in the house!

we got home several hours and a coupla whiskeys ago.  i had to satisfy myself with a Mrs. Smith's fried pie at our last gas stop on the way home, as there was no pie in Nacogdoches.  not that i think i coulda stuffed any down my pie-hole... it was already full of catfish and onion rings.

great ride today.  have we started mocking john for imitating a Harley and vibrating a piece of chrome off his bike while crossing the RR tracks in Lumberjack Town?  if we haven't started that yet, we should.

wonderful seeing/meeting/reconnecting with all y'all!
