Will a Interstate seat fit a 1997 standard?? and if so, is it an advantage?   I am looking for a more comfortable seat and thought it might be the answer on the cheap.  Smiley   2funny

It can be installed but doesn't "fit".  the tank is different and doesn't look right. Just spend the money on a mustang or ultimate. You'll thank yourself in the end

get a new OEM std/tourer 2000+ seat. about $100. very good seat, even better with a sheep skin on it.

To directly answer your question. Yes an IS seat will fit a standard. There will just be a small gap between the seat and tank. No advantage really to speak of.
