I've got my Valkyrie set up just about how I like it after having it for about 20 months. Only thing not addressed so far us the handlebar position. I took her on a Saddle Sore 1000 back on eclipse day and survived it okay. But the bar position just doesn't please me at all. Then I rode a friends 1500 Valkyrie Interstate that had risers on it. Now that was a sweet bar position. Only problem is now I hate my Valks bars. I contacted Helibars to see if they had any thing that might be made to work for us. I got an e-mail reply: "Kevin;
We have just brought a bike in house for fitment and will be happy to keep you posted on the development of any products.
Kind Regards,
Jennifer Pettengill Inside Sales/Marketing"
So I hope to hear something about this In the coming weeks or months. If anyone else has a communications with them and gets any info please keep all of us informed. I'll do the same. It might not hurt if anyone interested in helibars for their Valk contacts them.

A fellow on here welded up his own bars. They look great and work great.
Find him and get him to mail his plans to Helibars.
That issue is the main reason the new 1800 is out for me (there are a few others, but that is the main one).

I am the one that welded up my own bars, but, unfortunately, I did not keep the template.
Any metal fabrication shop should be able to make you a set of bars. You just have to make sure that they are arced back towards you, so that they clear the tank bezel. Mine are 16" long and the arms are arced about 1". The width of the top and bottom are the same as the OEM bars.
Like Mike said. You then have to lengthen the wires, brake line, clutch line and the throttle cable.
Helibars are ridiculously expensive. You could easily get the bars made and get all the new lines and cables for less than the Helibars.

Time is money. I don't have the time to be experimenting and doing custom work. Allthough expensive Heli bars are adjustable and they sell complete kits. If they came up with a solution I might buy it.

What on earth is wrong with me! The stock bars rocked! Perfect in every way. That and the Corbin, 450 mile days, no sore anything. Still the best seat ever and the Corbin on the 1500 is not as good. Here come the darts. LOL.

No darts , you've got the limbs that this Honda was designed for . I have their problem with the bars , too. Makes it difficult to pursue a $1K Russell Day Long seat knowing the bar discomfort will still be there . What on earth is wrong with me! The stock bars rocked! Perfect in every way. Well 683. I'm sure you will have to go to the school of longer cables. Yes the H bars are infinitely adjustable, but you will have to lengthen everything. That is time and money.

On the FaceBook 1800 Valkyrie page I was chatting with a guy that did not appear to have to lengthen any cables, just removed the screw clamp on the front to loosen them up. He sent me some photos as well and used the risers I posted above.... Rox risers.

If they make a kit it would most likely address any cable wiring and hose length modifications. That's the point.
I doubt that they pursue it too hard though because of lack of demand.

Lol, Sheffjs, I don't know why people throw darts at others for being comfortable. Makes no sense. If the bike fits you perfectly, that's awesome! It didn't work for me and I ended up going to the F6b, but I think it's awesome that others are of the right dimensions to find comfort on the new Valk because it's such an awesome machine. I was actually considering buying some smaller helibars for it before I sold it. They have a couple of models that might work even before they get their custom job done. If you trade a little width for a little pullback you shouldn't have to adjust cables, and then add all the wrist adjustability that they offer, it would probably do the trick. I just didn't want to spend that many bucks on an experiment, lol! Jason

This might be a really stupid question but since stock pipes aren't a perfect fit for me, and I want some options (preferably cheap) I have to ask... why is welding needed? Couldn't you just get some 1" pipe and a pipe bender and go to work?

You could try that, but to get the bends precise would require computer control. Trying to do it by hand would never come out right. Unless you got really lucky. Most custom bars I looked at were welded. When I say custom, I don't mean aftermarket.
