It's 10* and snowing with wind, the wind was blustery day all night as well
Looks like 3" on the ground from over night but with the wind  ,it's hard to say.
It's winter, as least the snow is good for the deep water table.

We are expecting sleet and snow tomorrow Friday here in the Midlands of SC.  There are times I sort of like the snow.  Unless I have to drive somewhere.

I'm as ready as I can be.  Everything moved out of the way.  Snow thrower, back pack blower, fuel, snowmobile suit (hat, gloves, boots), shovel, and Irish Whisky antifreeze. 

I see the Regan National planes overhead and think... man, Florida would be nice about now.

Something tells me that the Irish Whiskey Antifreeze had something to do with the making of the snow angels.


Or was that a case of "Help I've fallen and I can't get up" ?

It's 4* with wind feel like -15* and 2" more of snow on the ground.
That makes  18"  for the running total so far.

I have a full face helmet with crazy dragons painted on it, but I discovered I can't stand wearing full face helmets riding, so it's new.  I've though about wearing it when I'm out blowing snow, but it's like 10lbs (or something), so no.

Had a blast plowing snow today..
So  glad I  wore my helmet !
Wind blowing snow blowing and  of course plowing more snow blowing..
   One of my across the road neighbors stopped to chat as I was clearing the mail boxes.
He was like wow what a great idea !

Of course I wear a Nolan flip up..
Been wearing flip up since the 90's..
It's the best of both worlds..
When I ride I never  drop the chin bar.

Not bad, still better then the '09-'12 years.
When we got hit with 182" in 09/10 ..
98" in 10/11
87" in 11/12

I'm so glad  , we  didn't get the  last snow  they were  calling for ..
Still holding at 26" for  the  season..

I did  get TheBeast out yesterday. It was  a little sketchy getting up 1  hill..
But I knew TheBeast could  do it..
I  had  tossed more  ash/char on the real ice spots, yesterday morning.

I plowed  the  driveway , hayed the  stock, got ahead count all is  well.
Fed the  birdies.. Checked the water

We are good here.  Now Houston has shut down both airports tomorrow and Wednesday and all schools are closed both days as well.  It is a good thing, because 99.9% of the people here don't know how to drive on DRY roads, little lone a bit of snow and ice.  Predicting 3-4 inches of the white stuff tonight and tomorrow.  

EDIT: We had dinner and played cards with HotGlue and Flamingo Babe the other night.  They are doing good as well.

Well, it now snowing here in Newberry, SC.  Temperature has been in the mid 20's all day.   Not normal but.... could be worse.

But there is no wind so the snow is just lightly falling from the sky.

So I  unrolled  the rest of that 1/2  bale..

I  dropped the plow , just to keep the  driveway clear.

I have had a ton of Robins here for the last 4days as well as Turkey Buzzards.
  So I can see an early spring...

I've had robins too up here in NOVA lately Tracy.

Turkey buzzards are always flying around up here.

Both Robins  and  Turkey buzzards leave  here in Nov. Return in Spring.
The  Black Buzzard stays  and  winters here in place. You can tell the  difference
in the  B.Buz. Flap wings  oddly, and  has  2  huge white  spots on underside  of wings. and  T. Buz
reddish head, and  are brownish flap wings  normal and  glid.

the  long deep cold spells and  snow  are too much for the Robins and T.Buzzards.

I like Orange Marmalade.  Was not aware of the Blood Orange version.  May have to give it a try.

We  are  up to 6" of  heavy ass snow!
It took me 3h to plow and unroll a bale of hay.
It looks like I might have a cow thinking of breaking into 2!.,..
I guess this  year is  the  year of storm calves

Sure keeping busy, ain't ya?  We've had little b/s storms, just enough to plow. I work for a state contractor when it snows, then come home and plow and shovel out the farm.  Not as big as yours, but the horse owners are kinda winey about snow & ice.
