Ron,

I called to cancel my reservation, too. Only thing is, the guy I talked with said he didn't show one for me. Hmmm, hope I don't get billed after all. Really sorry this ain't gonna work out... You all did a great job of setting this up and laying out all the details for us... I don't think it was wasted effort, however, as it did spark some genuine anticipation for a large number of us... And, much of your planning will carryover for the time when we will be able to do it... Thanks for everything!!!

DDT

P.S. For what it's worth: In extraordinary times like these, tough calls and disappointments are unavoidable... We shall have another opportunity, though, so I chose to think of it merely as a delay...

Bruce,
I appreciate the kind words but, to be clear, there were several others involved in the planning and execution.   Mac, Punisher, Warlock, Danny and Bob all participated/contributed, apparently the messenger doesn't always get kilt.  Wink   The time, effort and fuel I used in contacting local vendors for charity contributions and other things was a learning experience that will come in handy for next year.  We really didn't want to cancel the event but, we feared we would be contributing to the "bug" currently invading our nation and giving it an enhanced opportunity to spread.   That's the last thing we wanted to happen.

Regardless, my mind is already looking at opportunities and planning for next April.   Hopefully this will be just another memory by then.

Well, nuts.
I just canceled my room. No problems; got a cancelation number from them.
Anyone want to met for a sidebar at InZane and do some brainstorming for next year, what do ya'll think?
(That presupposes, of course, that InZane goes on as planned.)

I agree but, I'm not convinced this Pandemic will be under control by then.   None of the medical experts are all that confident on how long this Pandemic will be around.

I'm already working on a Spring of 2021 event.   But, that doesn't mean we can't get together any other time.   If you need an excuse to come to Southern Mississippi, just say the word, we'll come up with something.  Wink

As of now Reb and I are making the ride on the planned dates . We have jobs and put in for this same as InZane . If the Chinese cooties don't take me out as I'm still working seven days a week right now I'll be in Mississippi the weekend after Easter as planned.

NOTICE II:  As of this afternoon, The Mississippi Department of Health has made several recommendations, in response to that, the Mayor of Hattiesburg has ordered several types of businesses shut down and gatherings of 10 people or more is outlawed and subject to legal ramifications.   Based on this dis-heartening news, the Hattiesburg group has decided to cancel this event and try again after the Pandemic is over.   Maybe in the Fall or next Spring.   If you have reservations at Ground Zero, you should probably make that call.

Ride and Stay Safe.

Rams

As I understand it, the Governor of Mississippi has just overridden all local government rulings on this. (I think you guys made the wise but sad choice to shut it down)

This may have been discussed already and I missed it, so I’ll ask ....
What about the t-shirts?  Have they already been ordered/received?  If so, how do we go about paying and getting ours?

Thanks!

Sweet Cheeks,
I contacted Stephanie when it was decided to cancel the event.   At that time she had not produced any.
You may want to verify by contacting her but, I  was going to go ahead and pay for my ordered shirts and she said none had been produced yet.
