The President was obviously very angry as he left the podium.  I admire his restraint and discipline as he didn't respond to Pelosi's offense.  It's not his natural reaction path.

As for losing votes, I'm not confident.  Look at our own representatives of the left.  The two sides are so deeply committed that no amount of logical demonstration of wrong will change minds.  We can only hope that there are still a few voters in the middle not fully committed to either side.
I missed his reaction on leaving. I will have to watch again. But it has always seemed to me he never explodes in person, he stews about it and then goes on Twitter. I imagine this time will be no different.

The ignore function is pretty simple to use.

It certainly is. Why don't you ignore some here instead of being the perpetual "must have the last word" .

Pelosi is a master manipulator, and her calculation worked.

This morning, are we talking about President Trump's uplifting, inspiring, uniting speech?

No.... We're talking about whom was petty to whom first.

Maybe, I think Willow might be correct. She might have been trying to get him to react last night.

I've just seen a video on FB showing the view from Pelosis left side.

To my eyes it looked like she extended the hand just as Trump turned away. Looks like it wasn't planned on her part nor ignored by the President.

Definitely could be.....  Note he didn't shake Vice President Pence's hand either...

AOC's opinion means less than nothing (if, that is possible) to me.

When you look at the footage, its at least arguable whether the handshake snub was intentional or not.  It looks to me like it could have been inadvertent.  What's not arguable was Pelosi's actions, they were blatant and most likely premeditated.  Its sad that she can't put her TDS aside long enough to honor the good people mentioned in that speach - the last of the Tuskegee airmen, the soldier home from the war, etc.  She's given the GOP a video clip that can be repeatedly shown up to Trumps re-election.

So now it's ok to talk about violence toward elected officials. I thought the ROTR covered disparaging comments toward political figures, including pet names. (The use of Shithead Shiff comes to mind. Which as far as I know, is still on the board). Seems to me this is waaayyyy over the line.
Only applies to conservative politicians.

I'm really more than tired of the constant victim claims from you two and accusations of unfair moderation.

Baldo, the Rules of the Road do not prohibit disparaging comments toward political figures.  I have no idea where you got that.  I did say that I had begun to recognize demeaning pet names of political figures supported by some members of the board as disrespect.  Disrespectful communication is prohibited by the Rules.  I apparently either have not seen the post to which you referred or it was before I started deleting posts with demeaning names.  Feel free to show me where you found that.

Meathead, that is more than once that you've accused me of being partial to conservative posts.  I have gone way out of my way to give liberals more room than I give conservatives to avoid that appearance.  I'm weary and I'm tired.  There used to be my perception of friendship between us but that appears to be completely gone.

If you two don't like how this board is managed then go get your own.  At this point I won't miss you.

There were several personal favorite parts of POTUS's speech last night.  I loved the snubbed handshake, even though it appeared unintentional to me.  But my personal favorite was the parts about the sanctuary cities, when he called out NY and California specifically.  The look on Po-losey's face was priceless.  He should have followed up with photos of the homeless tent cities in LA, and given her credit for such a successful Dem policy.  Having her drunken ass behind him for that made all the denture adjustments bearable.  I can hardly wait for the impeachment aquital announcement.

I just spent 10 minutes looking for the Shiff comment with no luck. It may have just been removed by the poster, you might not remember deleting it, or I'm just not able to find it.

Good one but it does give thoughts to Trump. He could step out to face the next gaggle of reporters and do just that, rip up the articles of impeachment.

You may be right but I also heard an argument that if he is acquired then he is not impeached same as a person charged with a crime and acquitted, the charge goes away. I know his detractors would never accept this premise but just as many will. Pelosi ripping up the speech didn’t change anything except the public perception of the Speaker.

I'm guessing that some didn't read or hear Dershowitz's take on the impeachment. Or they read it and have somehow forgotten it.

At the end of what I thought was a unifying State of the Union address, the hyper partisan Nancy Pelosi, as our President was walking away, tore up the copy of his speech that she had been so graciously given....

Wow.....

I don't need to look up anything. The simple explanation is the majority of members here are conservatives. So when you guys come on with your dissenting opinion (which you are allowed) causes us to defend our position so in essence you are the cause of the thread getting locked. So if you would refrain from responding to political threads they wouldn't get locked. It's as simple as that....
