Leaving in a few minutes, a balmy 47, will be taking the back roads to prolong what's left of the foliage. Life is good!

It's been a wet week here, but, made it all week anyway! Weather is improving and should be nice tomorrow. Going to ride down to Galveston for the Lone Star Rally. It is halloween and should prove to be very intersting to say the least!  Evil

Here in Bradenton Florida, it's a warm, foggy 75 degrees at 8am this morning and looking to go to 90 by lunchtime. Humid as a summer day. Saturday should be more of the same. For me, cooler would be a nice change.

I've been miserable fighting a cold/cough all week.  I feel like crap.  I came in to the office on Monday...and felt so bad that I took the Jeep even though it wasn't that bad out.  I get here and my boss says, "why don't you work from home today."  So I grab my laptop and head for home.  Well, I just stayed home sick Tues and Wed, then I actually did work from home yesterday.  Today I finally came back to the office, but I still feel crappy and this cold medicine I am taking makes me a little loopy, so I took the Jeep.  No sense risking it.  So 0 for 5 this week on the bike... that's a first in a long time for me.

Perfect morning in Kansas, 50 degrees and the sun came up. What else could be better? I did get C-U-T-T-O-F-T totally this morning. Stupid cage went down the exit lane until the last minute then whipped back over to the highway. I was there be he didn't even care.

The forecast is good all week here. Gonna be a real good week Tater.

Still feeling the effects of whatever bug I got in my system.  So since the thermometer said 25* this morning, I took the Jeep again.  So...no riding for me in over a week now.   Sad

34 degrees, foggy, and some frost on the road.

It's been raining for a week. Just stopped Saturday, so, big ride yesterday and riding in to work today... Supposed to be 58 and clear for the ride home though so all's good.

35* when I left home this morning, but the weather is supposed to be sunny all week. Lows in upper 30's, low 40's and highs low 70's. Bout near perfect riding weather.  Smiley

Riding to work in the daylight was a nice change this morning, finally the time change does something for me!

Although, I was still nearly hit. A nice sunny 6:45 this morning a Land Rover came at me across the yellow line. I was luckily in the center lane position, and could dodge over to the white line while hitting the horn. I missed him as he pulled the Land Rover back out of the lane. He never really left the lane. As far as I could see in my rear view mirror he never fully went back over on his side of the yellow line.

So, the daylight was nice, but it only made it marginally safer.

Oh well. I went to work and did my job. I had some time in the middle to sit and read a book in a book store. Then I came back and finished up. Now, home in the dark.

24 degrees this morning! Nice and crisp. Put on the old snomo suit, turn up the heated grips, and ride I say. 7000 miles on my "new to me" '99 I/S this year (since July) and counting. Bought a low mile (13k) and have since added 7k in 4 months.

Well, after many days of non-riding due to a severe cold, I finally broke the bike out this morning for the ride to work.  It was mid-40s so not too cold for the 8 mile trip, and I'm feeling alot better.  I'm hoping the fresh air will help.  cooldude

The problem with having a warm moonlit night ride on the way home is that when I arrived home I did not get my jacket out of my saddlebag. So this morning, when it was considerably chillier my jacket was tucked inside of my saddle bag. The jacket was nicely chilled. Putting it on caused a burr moment.

Today is clear skies. The temp is supposed to pick up quickly without clouds to slow it down, so the mid-day ride should be nice. I hope that I get a chance to grab lunch on that ride.

The way home should get chillier again. The temps will most likely also fall off quickly because of the cloudless skies.

I love this time of year.

Commute to work, work to commute.

No riding for me again today.  I rode yesterday and that cold air just affected my breathing too much.  And today it was back down to 25* this morning and only hitting the mid 40's later.  So I took the Jeep.  This cold has been kicking my ass for almost 2 weeks now.  Sad

I don't have that particular one, but I do have a neoprene balaclava/face mask...I forget where it came from...probably HDL or something.  Yes it helps some, but it just bugs me a bit being all over my face.  I usually just pull it down around my neck and chin.  I do wear a full-face helmet too.

Bob the Zub will surprise you, it's so light and thin but it does make a huge difference on the neck and face. I wear one almost year around just to keep the wind and sun burn down.

32 degrees today. I'm going to go work, then find a quiet place to hide afterwards. I have one meeting with a student about publishing, then I am going to work on my own homework.  Tonight we're meeting with some friends for dinner and then going to see a French film. Should be a nice day once it warms up.

forecast for 77 tomorrow and we are going underground for our ride tomorrow to hide from the cold.  Grin

Wore my chaps today for the first time this fall. It was supposed to get
down to 29 but I don't know if it did or not. I love sitting at a red light
with your breath "blowing smoke" out of yer full face helmet. It's fun to
watch the cage drivers (bundled up like Nanook of the North) looking
at you like you're crazy! Grin

Was going to ride the other day but I still hadn't cleaned the bike from my FCR vacation. So after a couple of days of washing off parts of Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and Tennesse ..... the bike was ready to go. Today in the Chicago area it is cloudy and in the low 40's but the cloud cover makes it feel like mid 30's. Suppose to get up to mid 50's and sunny but I will be stuck in this office building until after the sunset ... doesn't matter because I am on the bike and no matter how bad the day ... riding my Valk always lightens the load. cooldude
