I don't need your permission to voice my opinion. You are 100% correct. But don't be shocked, offended, or defensive it it's met with another STFU. You can type it till your fingers fall off and I will continue to ignore it. I wasn't offended in the least. In fact, I rather like it when someone plays that card because it gives me the opportunity to continue to do the very opposite of what they told me to do.Where did I say that anyone should "subjugate themselves to a criminal"? Wow, really? How 'bout by suggesting that one should just stand by and watch your car stereo being stolen. I mean, after all, "it's just electronics and easily replaced". BUZZZZZZ WRONG!!! I never said any such thing. But thanks for playing. We have some lovely concession prizes to dull the sting of failure.

If it is so wrong to shoot someone for stealing property, why do the police shoot at bank robbers? Banks have more money than most of us and can therefore absorb the loss better than the dude whose losing his 3rd car stereo and paying to repair the damage the ahole caused to his vehicle. I say if you decide to steal, be prepared to be shot if caught in the act. As far as Texas goes, Love the state. Was at Lackland AFB for 6 months in '76. Went to a bar one night and the doorman asked me if I had a gun. I said "No". So he gave me one!

BUZZZZZZ WRONG!!! I never said any such thing. Just for fun, I quoted your own words to see what would happen. I guess you are just too busy arguing to pay attention. You may not remember when you first alienated me but as a reminder it involved a discussion about the relative merits of different engine configurations. You, on a Valkyrie board, took issue with my preference/defense of opposed engines and extolled the virtues of V-twins. At one point, someone - either you or bobbo - asked if I thought V-twins are inferior and I answered yes. I later admitted that a better choice of words to describe my opinion of V-twins was less elegant. That thread was eventually locked when it descended into nothing but personal attacks. A short while later, you issued a public mea culpa. I appreciated that and softened my position on your brashness. I also appreciated your technical input for the last few months. You even made me giggle when you said that at least anvils can be made into something useful whereas nothing good has ever come out of disco (don't tell that to all the cheesy guys laying cheesy girls for the last 30-odd years). However, things have changed again and it appears I was right the first time. Mr. The Anvil, sir, you are now the first member in my ignore list. Ride safely.

Native born Texan, lived in Louisiana for the last 40 or so years. We are also blessed with the right to defend home and property, and the vehicle is considered an extension of your home when you are away. Believe me, you are welcome to live where there are limited rules of engagment. Not for me though. I will live free as possible in this liberal world that thinks their rules should be the law of the land. One thing most everybody respects is deadly force or the threat of it. Or as someone once said, an armed population is a polite population. Oh and that old saw that if you ever use leathal force, it will change you forever, is a load of crap. He, she, it needed killin is a perfectly good excuse to me.

Yes, Bobby, you can.
1. Click on Profile above 2. Click on Personal Message Options 3. The Ignorelist box is right there with instructions to enter the User Name of the person(s) you want to ignore. There is also a Find Members tool there to make sure you get it right. 4. From then on, or until you remove the User Name from the list, all you have to contend with is seeing their Username and Avatar in the threads along with "You are ignoring this user." followed by a link called "Show me the post."
Addition by subtraction feels good...

Billy Joe Shaver...The Original Honky Tonk Hero....I've never been a big fan of country music but I have all of Billy Joe's CD's... You could see him go down health wise after his son Eddy OD'd on heroin. He still tours and was recently at The Shed @ Smoky Mountain Harley in Maryville, TN.

Getting back to the regularly scheduled programming... I'm originally a New England guy, born in Maine... lived in Connecticut for most of my formative years. I moved to San Antonio Tx. and lived there for 10 years in the late 80s to 90s. I enjoyed Tx a lot. I, also, am an avid shooter and have had many guns over the years. At least 2 dozen, bought and sold that I can think of off the top of my head. Two of which I bought right out of the trunk of a Police car in SA.. (A number of my friends down there are officers which i stay in touch with) We would go to the range or the woods at lease 3-4 times a month to shoot. Went through a lot of ammo in those days. Had "0" problems living down there. Perps seem to be a bit more cautious in a state where there's a good chance that their intended victim is carrying... It very well could be that I was just never at the wrong place at the wrong time. Who knows?

Prove it. I call BS. Show me the stats, from gov't sources, like the FBI, where MORE people are shot by their own guns in a crime situation. NOT those committing suicide, which is, I believe, where those stats come from. We are talking about pulling a gun to defend oneself, or another, and then having that gun taken away, and used on the CCW permit holder. I say BS. MP I don't have the statistic or even the desire to search for them, but I think Anvil is correct in his statement. Many years ago when I attended a state criminal justice academy the instructor stated that 20% of cop gun fatalities were by their own gun and he wasn't talking about suicide. Generally LEOs are trained to a higher level in gun retention than civilians.

Ok, when I caught two late teens crawling around in my garage (which sits 50 feet from the house) one got away. His buddy got a spade shovel upside his head before he could get out from under the overhead door. I pulled him out into the alley and left him lay for his buddy to come back and pick him up. I then called the police. Funny his buddy come back about the time they were putting him in the ambulance. He was also arrested. If I had been armed the out come may have been different. Here's my thought "beaware, steal from me and you may not see tomorrow, period". I don't care if your in my house, yard, garage, or car.
