Stopped by Hooters yesterday and they had some very good secretaries for ya.

Went to National USYSA soccer game tonight.  Rain came down hard right after the whistle for the second half. Reminded me of better times, either referee-ing, coaching, or cheering my sons on!

Our old hay hauler was a 52 chevy stake bed. Some mornings, it needed a little help to get started.

Our Hay Hauling was only from the field to the barn.

I drove an old F20 Farmall on steel, parked the wagon by the elevator, stuck the belt on the F20 and then helped throw the bales on the elevator.

When it was empty, pulled the belt, hooked the wagon back up and headed for the field again for another load of bales.    Loved that job, the one I hated was the one where we rode the tail end and stuffed wires through to the other rider.     That was a hot DIRTY job.    Grandma made us stand under a hose rigged up like a shower.   We went in clothes and all, then stripped down to buck naked and went in to the dirt room as she called it to dry off and put on clean clothes.    Ya didn't want to be bashful or you were in for it in the field.  Saw many a person get stripped and made to parade around the wagon and tractor.

I had fun the 2 summers I hayed and got to ride horses everyday. Didnot know how much it helped my build until one of the coaches asked me to try out for football.  I told him no, since he was the same one that didn't want me 2 years ealier.

When I was playing football, we didn't utilize the weight room then.

My son got stuck in the weight room his Sophomore year in school, and every season till he was a Senior.

Breakfast (steak and taters)    Dinner (steak and taters),  Supper (steak and taters).

As you can tell we were farmers and raised a lot of cattle, chickens, goats, sheep and hogs.

Always had meat on the table, and plenty of it.

Plus fresh milk right from the tite.    I used to have to turn the crank on the seperator so as to get the cream off, and into 5 gallon milk cans to go to the guy in town who bought the cream.
 Evil
Plenty of eggs also.

Lots of animals to learn how to ride, till I got caught at it.    Didn't ride anything for awhile, didn't set down for a while, stood up to eat, and last but not least, learned to sleep on my tummy.    When the scabs were gone, it was still tender for a few months. Evil

R J I like your menu. I get told I am a picky eater sometimes. I tell them what, meat and spuds simple and I am happy. throw a little pork in there once and awhile whats picky about that. I also grew up in cattle and farm land and still live here. plenty of the good stuff to go around. Smiley

It's late and the meat and spuds for dinner is starting to wear off.  I am up waiting for delivery of the valk that left me stranded in WY two weeks ago. It wasn't her fault it was mine. I wont let that happen again. she is all fixed now and ready to ride until the snow flys. then she is getting a major going thru. cooldude

Call it what ya want, but as long as it isn't called dinner for the evening meal, I could give a sheet less.    That is supper and everyone in the old world knows that.

I was counting up the days, in 48 days, I'll turn 80, and that is 60 years longer than was predicted I'd live.

Yeah, in the past 3 or 4 years I have kind of gone down hill in a bucket.

See ya all later.

If ya see my Yellow/Black Chevy Trike goin down the road, honk and wave.  Thanks.

Without a doubt, the temps are a lot higher around here than normal.....

It has gotten to the point I will not go outside during the afternoon.

The rain we did get yesterday has dropped our temp a lot.

Right now it is 67*, normally at this time of night it is still in the 90's.

Our old hay hauler was a 52 chevy stake bed. Some mornings, it needed a little help to get started.

We had a 51 that my step dad borrowed from his brother and then never returned it.    We didn't dare take it in the hayfield as it would turnover when we crossed the ditch.

County maintenance wouldn't let us put in a driveway.    Something about a drain tube.   I was too young to care so don't know all the details.

All the yards in my neighborhood look like little oat stalks.     Brown and very brittle, except for my neighbor on my West.

I'd hate like hell to pay his water bill.     Every night at 10:30 PM his lawn sprinklers come on and spray for 30 minutes.    Right now he has up the time to almost 45 minutes.   Yupper, it is nice and green.  He has to mow every week.  I haven't mowed mine going on 4 weeks now.  The weeds are growing but the grass is all dormant.
