Hi all,

I have finally fulfilled my quest to get a Valk, and as of yesterday evening, I am the proud owner of a "fast black" Interstate!  Now if only winter were not upon us ???
Hope to meet you all when Spring returns!  Not sure if the original owner is/was a member here, but he had some cool stories about where that bike had been Cool

Welcome FJR 9!  You may discover our winters seem even longer with a Valkyrie PARKED in the stable.  Looking forward to meeting and riding with you after the annual ice age.

Welcome FJR9!  I'm in Denver and my Valk and Denver Dave's both run when the temps drop.  We met over at Rosie's Diner last Saturday morn for breakfast, when the temp was 26.  Warmed up to 49 when we left, beautiful weekend for riding!  Shoot me an email if you want to ride!  I think there's a few more that would want to tag along!

HEY FJR9 - bout 40 miles away, closest to Elizabeth.  Been thru Bennett a zillion times.  That's on the low-traffic shortcut to 76. Used to be a restaurant I'd ride to there, but they closed. Yep I ride year round too but usually get snowed in for December.  Definitely snowed in right now.

Hey Wrangler if you had studs in your tires you could ride on the Gunnison ice, too!  Even when it gets to -35*.

Off season ain't about lack of desire 'round these parts.  It's about staying alive.

No, it's too cold over there.  Studded tires or tracked Valk, not for me.  Used to race my BSA 441 Victor on the ice on Lake St. Clair in Michigan, with screws in the tires, but that was in my Ute!

Thanks guys!

I'm hoping for some winter riding at some point...Colorado weather being what it is.
It's gonna take awhile for all the snow and ice to melt off my street.

Anyone interested in a Holiday get together for the Colorado VRCC in the next month or two?  Maybe we could all get together for a dinner or something at a mid point depending on who's interested.  Post your thoughts!

This was done a few years ago and worked out well. I meant to do it last year but never got it done. I am thinking Castle Rock or south Denver might be more towards the middle for our friends up north. The last time we met at a buffet. It worked well in that you paid as you came in and had a variety to choose from saving splitting up the checks.  cooldude

Misfit, Sounds great, lets get a head count for people interested and make a plan.  If it's December or January, maybe a place with a hotel/motel close to ground zero.  Adult beverages and good times may require a place for out of towners to stay.  Lets open it up to the group and see who wants to meet!

Anyone interested in attending reply here. If we know who's attending we wil be able to nail down a midway location. I'm in and will drag Ron along. It would be nice if the new folks could come. Neil Kirby, FJR, High Mountains Pete, and any others.  cooldude

I'm in if not snowed in.  But nearly every year, December snows seal us in for a month or more.  And we have two feet of snow now.

Sounds good, anyone else out there that might want to come?  Out of staters welcome if they want to make the drive or ride.  I'll coordinate with Misfit and start looking at locations and dates.  Post your thoughts on this and join in early so we have an idea of who's interested, number of guests, and where your'e coming from so we can plan!

Ok Guys and Gals, lets see if we can get a handle on this and a firm head count by 12/12/2015.  So far, no takers from anyone north of Denver.  So if your out there and plan on coming, you may save some driving miles by responding.  Darksider so far is the furthest south, Pueblo, so we move towards the south  to make the drive a little shorter for him.   If you can't make a certain date, post it and we can accommodate you at this point.  Misfit's on board for organizing, so lets get it going..... tickedoff

I'm in for the following weekends  Dec 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, January 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th. The other weekends I am working.  I know it is really hard to find a time that works for everyone, but I'm sure Bill and Damon will figure it out.....

Since January looks like the month, let's shoot for the weekend of the 9th, 16th or 30th.  Misfit thinks that we will have 20-25, so it should be a good gathering.  Post whether Saturday or Sunday works best, but for the people that have to travel, Saturday would probably be better.  If you know members that are not "up to speed" with their emails, let's give them a call and get them on board!  If youv'e got friends on the national level of the VRCC, and they want to commit to coming, let us know!  Post your ideas here....

Jan 22 should be good for us.  Or at least me.  The busy stuff going on now into Jan should all be over and by then the snow gone if it's like the average winter.  But then there's the El Nino going on so likely not average.  We just got buried with another 10 inches drifted to twice that on top of the snow & ice that was still here from the big one a month ago.  Plus I should have most of the planned mods on Jade done.  A big one remaining is I'd like to polish then powder coat clear the wheels.  The P.O. neglected the front wheel especially and it's pretty corroded, dingy looking.

Well guys it's coming down to the wire, so if something doesn't work for you on the dates, let us know on the Co Thread or phone.  We are trying to make this work for everyone and so your input is important.  We are looking at having it on Friday evening instead of Saturday for our out of towners.  If that doesn't work let us know.  Also, Denver Dave, can you and Robin make the 22nd work?  I'll start looking for a place in south Denver next week so we need a confirmation on the date.  Also a head count would be nice after the date is confirmed.  I'll get with Misfit on the feedback.

Thanks to everyone that responded to our post's on our gathering!  Misfit and I decided that the date for the event will be Saturday, January 16th.  We tried to accommodate everyone, but took into consideration the members that actually responded to the post's on the board.  We will have a location on the south side of Denver picked out by the end of December.  If anyone has suggestions, please post them on the board or get in touch with Misfit or myself.  Get your friends to turn on their computers and check this board!

Remember  Saturday January 16th in the date.....  more to come!
