I'm registered for Saturday night at Wamego Inn.  And I got the steak deal also Tongue

See ya all in a few weeks Smiley    BTW....  I don't care about how far or where the route is for the ride... Just count me in...  I know how much effort goes into planning a large group ride and I will trust your judgment on the route that it turns out to be...  Worse case... I have my GPS to figure out how to get back  cooldude crazy2

bye for now Smiley  Oh and thank goodness... My work week was over... I worked three nights in 3 1/2 weeks... Wasn't sure if I could get through it but I did  Grin

If the ride is the one I test rode for roadkill, Alma is the only fuel stop.  Got a little detour since I rode it, with bridgework on K4, add about 10 miles, but it has a really nice road as good as the rest of it.  The whole thing is on roads I ride frequently.

I believe I have a detour worked out around the construction, I'll have better Intel on Sunday (gotta work 48 hours between now and then)

As far as fuel stops, There are (not counting 2 in Wamego) 7 gas stations along the ~130 mile route.

Turn right on Mission Valley Rd, turn left on Harveyville Rd, turn left on Dover rd, pick up k4 there. one mile back west to Carlson Rd.  Or go straight thru Dover and pick up five miles of  curvey road back to I 70 on Vallencia road.
these are the only paved way back to I 70.  Hoser

I guess I didn't count Manhattan and JC.  I guess I was going to where you could get before needing fuel, if you are full in Wamego. Hoser

I thought about that and also considered staying on Harveyville road/SW89th to Auburn, then north on Auburn road to K-4 and back through Dover.

I'm not as familiar with those sections, so I'm off to ride that area tomorrow. I'll have a solid route tomorrow evening and will pre-ride it some time next week

For those planning to be in Wamego in a few weeks you may want to check out some Deal Garden promotions at www.dealgarden.com.

Hotel, museum, steak house discounts.

I think Majority rule has determined Wamego Inn and Suites for the hotel. I would like to get an idea of how much interest there is for the Show at the Colombian. If we have 15 or more people I will be happy to arrange for the discounted tickets.

And for those taking advantage of the Deal Garden promotion (Thanks Bark2) how many are also interested in the Oz Museum and Ramblers Steak house? (the afternoon stop on Saturdays ride was planned for Puffy's Steak & Ice House in Maple Hill)

I suppose in an effort to keep from overloading this thred any more than it already is, and to keep better track, PM me?

As far as fuel stops, There are (not counting 2 in Wamego) 7 gas stations along the ~130 mile route.

If someone needs a gas stop on a ~130 mile ride, that rider doesn't understand very well his or her motorsickle.   Wink

I'm all for socializing along the way.  Riding is something I can do alone.

See you all soon and greatly looking forward to it.

I thought Baby dragons were allowed, some only hold 3 gallons... and I still avg 45 mpg vs your 30-35 mpg.  I guess if I run out, you guys would just make me walk...   Shocked  Roll Eyes

Lori, the Magna holds 3.6 with .8 of it in reserve.  That should give it a range of 144 miles even if you drop to 40 mpg.  If we run at over 85 indicated you'll need a gas stop, but never fear, if that happens I'm carrying extra in my tank.  You'll not have to walk.

We'll see you soon.   Smiley

We would never maker you walk Lori.

Stand around, point and laugh and make you wait for the chase vehicle, then continually make jokes about it maybe, but never make you walk.

Ok, Here is the loose iteniary for the weekend.

Friday we'll be meeting people coming in and will generally be a kick tires and tell lies session most likely around the pool at the hotel.

Saturday Morning there will be a pancake breakfast available for freewill donation (fundraiser) followed by some sight seeing/picture opportunities in and around Wamego. There is no hard plan for the morning and would be a good opportunity for those interested to visit the Oz Museum.
Lunch will be at a bar/ grill called Ramblers Steak house. The ride itself is about 140 miles (still adjusting a little due to some new construction and do not have a KSU time as of yet around 1pm) and will end up at Puffy's Steak and Ice House for a belt busing dinner. Then back to the hotel for more lies etc.

Sunday I may take anyone interested on a field trip to a few difficult to reach but very scenic areas close to Wamego but only accessible by gravel, we'll see. Then for those interested there is the Matinee at the Columbian Theater at 2 pm.

The idea is to have some interesting things to do beyond just riding, but not to overload the schedule with things and give everyone some freedom to explore without feeling obligated to follow the group all the time.

Oh yeah, and most importantly to Have fun, Meet old friends and make new ones!

The Pancake feed will be at the Wamego Masonic Lodge (519 Lincoln, just south of the Columbian Theater), it is a monthly fundraiser and free will donation. Breakfast starts at 0700 and will go to 10 or 11 depending on the crowd

Ok, the list has grown to be larger than I ever expected which is an awesome thing!

At this point I'm trying to get a head count of who is coming and who will probably be coming so that I can prepare the wonderful city of Wamego and more improtantly make sure that we have enough tables at the steak house (and they have enough staff on hand)

Please let me know who is planning to attend, how many people in your party, and how many bikes in your group and if you will be coming in Friday or Saturday.

Thanks, can't wait to see everyone in a week!
