Hello, Looking for camground info from anyone who knows the area. Found Craven Park on Google. How far from Ground Zero? Nice place? Any others... I have a m/c camper trailer & would prefer a grassy site. TIA

Call the "Chain O' Lakes" campground. Talked to the owners wife last October about camping and told her more VRCC'ers may be calling. Go to www.chainolakescamp.com for ammenties, location ( 1/2 mile from event site) map, FAQ's, etc.. Phone number to reserve is (231)533-8432. Don't know how full they might be. Mention you are with the VRCC, she was glad for the business as Michigan tourism has been down lately. See ya there!

I found it on Wikipedia. It starts in Traverse City and heads south along the shore for about 116 miles. It will be a good day ride from point zero Are there any recommended biker stops along this route. Place for lunch where bikers tend to go

I'm sure the Leelanau Peninsula (M-22) is included in the self guided tour routes...along with some very good rides North through the Tunnel of Trees (M-119) and Mackinaw City

You will get several self-guided routes in your registration packets...plus there will be many Michigan folks around that will be happy to help out in any way we can....

Whomever does the self-guided routes in the packets... is there any way these can be posted on the site before Inzane? This would allow us to load them into our GPS's even before we get to Michigan.

To say there's no way for it to be done would not be accurate. To say it won't be done would be more correct. Some reasons make sense to everyone. Some reasons only make sense to a few.
Here's an alternative. Motorctycling Across Michigan by William Murphy
I understand the author may be willing to autograph your copy when you get to InZane.

Are there food places or local shops nearby (short walking distance) or is it all at G-0? Not sure how G-0 is positioned from town. Thx

Hi fudgie...there are a few places at Shanty Creek other then the Summit to eat...but I'm afraid ground zero is up in the hills so you will have to go a couple of miles down to Bellaire....you will find plenty of good mom and pop specialty restaurants...and every town up that way has great places to eat....

Thank you this is good information. Could you just add the Shanty to the map indicating the restaurants. It would give us an indication of location aand required travel to the various restaurants

We should also plan on a location for breakfast which is open nice and early. This would also be a good meeting point in morning before the rides. Would be nice to meet other riders in one location
